Competition Day
I walk onto the bus and saw Mackenzie saved me a seat.
"Hey Kenzie"I laugh. I notice she is wearing so much makeup.
"What's with the makeup"I ask.
"Greg"she mumbled. I hug her. We spend the whole trip laughing and listening to music. We arrive at the competition. We walk into the dressing room. We only have one dance so we sit in the corner. We watch everyone, including my Mom fuss over Maddie with her makeup and costume. I look at Mackenzie. I give her a hug.
"Its so unfair"Mackenzie whispers.
"I know"I whisper. We walk out of the dressing room and sit in the audience waiting for Maddie to perform.
"Next to the stage is Maddie with the best"the announcer calls. She enter the stage in a sprakly silver dress and beautiful flawless makeup. She does an amazing job. I roll my eyes. It is so unfair. We walk back to the dressing room. We begin putting on our costume. Its a really cheap costume. It is a pair of place leggings and a red shirt with sequins on it. Our Moms refuse to do our makeup so I do mackenzies and Mackenzie does mine. We then walk backstage.
