"Stop frowning Tai," said Kuya Troy who was driving.
I rolled my eyes as I crossed my arms and didn't bother glancing at him. I hate them for forcing me to come with them! Lalo na si Kuya Trystan for his ridiculous suggestion. Ugh! Why do I have these kind of brothers?! I commend their protectiveness and all, but they're also the most bully amongst bullies in the university.
"You should smile kapag kaharap mo na si Byron, Tai. Baka kasuhan ka 'non, sige ka.. hindi ka lang grounded niyan kapag nagkataon" pananakot pa ni Ate Lala.
I sighed at mas lalong sumimangot kay Ate Lala. I really wish to be her real sister. She always make me see things clearly, hindi kagaya nila Kuya at Tan tan, and Kuya Trystan who used to be my favorite brother pero hindi na ngayon.
"Just talk to him nicely. Maybe you can allure him with your charms," Ate Lala muttered which made Kuya Troy's ears perked up.
"What allure with her charms are you talking about?" he scowled. "Tai could just talk calmly and nicely without saying bad words. Mukha namang mabait si Byron," he retorted.
I rolled my eyes and just looked through the window without retaliating. My brows furrowed as I saw the small houses we're passing through. They don't look like informal settlers, but the houses were side by side, and some doesn't even have gates. I was too adamant yesterday to avoid him when we send him home, kaya ngayon ko lang nakita to.
"Dito siya nakatira?" I asked, curiously.
Kuya Troy glanced at me on the rearview mirror. "Don't be judgmental. Not all people are well fortuned like you Taiana," he said in all seriousness.
"I was just asking!" I hissed and clicked my tongue. "You're the one who's judging me here!"
"You're my sister. I know you."
Hindi na lang ako nagsalita. He's always into debating and never let it pass until he wins. He knew how my mind works kaya I didn't argue anymore, but that doesn't mean I'm judgmental. Well, just sort of.
"Dito na ba?" Ate Lala inquired when the car stopped in front of the blue gate na hindi kita yung loob.
Kuya Troy nodded then stepped out of the car. Sumunod naman si Ate Lala, so, I have no choice but to follow them. I sighed when I stopped beside Ate Lala as Kuya knocked on the gate.
"Wala bang doorbell?" I frowned.
It was so odd to see Kuya knocking on the gate.. Really. Hindi bagay. Lalo na siguro ako. I couldn't imagine myself doing that, and why would I do that anyway?
"Sinong kailangan ninyo?" A woman in mid thirties opened the gate.
"Nandito po ba si Byron Ybañes?" tanong ni Ate Lala.
"Kayo ba yung Perkins?"
"Yes po. I'm Troy, this is Leila and that's Taiana Perkins. Can we talk to him?" asked Kuya Troy.
The woman gave us a sweet smile then nodded. "Pasok kayo! Nasabi na sakin na may darating siyang bisita"
We followed her inside. They have a mini garage where the familiar motorcycle with only one side mirror on it was parked. I looked at the house and it looked smaller compared to Ate Lala's house. Our house was bigger triple times if compared.
"Maupo muna kayo, naliligo pa kasi yung anak ko. Anong gusto niyong inumin?" the woman asked softly.
"Dalawa pong kape saka juice po para sa kanya," turo sakin ni Ate Lala.
"Hindi ka nagkakape hija?""Nope," I answered briefly and saw Kuya gave me a disapproving look.
I rolled my eyes and roamed my gazes around the house. It's so simple, but the medals displayed caught my attention. There's a lot! This family must be smart.
