"What is this?" I question the white box Todd just put in my hands.
"Open it." Todd smiles. This is the second surprise gift of the day.
When I woke up in the Penthouse I stepped out into the lounge room to find a large suitcase waiting for me. The suitcase was filled with clothes I mean to the brim. Dresses, skirts, tops, pants, shoes even underwear and make up. Todd said that after dinner he had sent Jen a message with my sizes and she had organised everything.
I picked out a sun dress with a pair of sandals and cardigan for our day in New York. Todd insisted on me showing him the sights. We walked around the city until our feet were sore and stopped for a late lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe in the Time Square.
After lunch we went back to the hotel Todd paid for me to go to the spa. I have never done anything like that in my life. I have never even painted my toenails. But here I sit in the back of a limo on the way to the airport with a French manicure and pink pedicure. I had my eyebrows waxed and a facial I have never felt so amazing.
"You didn't need to get me anything. I mean this has been amazing. Today with lunch, and the spa, and staying at the Waldorf. I just... I can't thank you enough."
"Open it." Todd repeats himself and I let out a sigh.
I slide the box open to reveal something I have only seen on billboard ads.
"Oh my god!" I murmur."Do you like it?" Todd asks. "I had to check with Ethan what the latest iPhone was but I swear that is it. It comes with headphones and I have already programmed my number and Jen's and of course all the boys. Well expect Arlo as if I'd give a five year old a phone. Do you like it?"
"It is amazing. But you didn't have to..."
"Of course I did. Only the best for my daughter."
Todd tentatively puts an arm around my shoulder and I feel myself leaning into him. I have known my dad two days but so far he is a better parent then my mum ever was. It isn't even the material things... he just cares.
The limo stops at the airport and Todd leads me through the check in counter and security. Before I know it I'm sitting in first class on my first ever airplane flight.
I grip the arm rest as we take off. Todd rest his hand on top of mine and I let out the breath I didn't realise I was holding.
"Macy, are you ok?"
"I... I have never been on a plane before." I say softly.
Todd signals the flight attendant who is immediately at his side.
"Yes sir?""Can I get a scotch and some gum?"
"Of course sir." The flight attendant leaves and is back in a flash. She pour a small glass of scotch handing it to Todd and place the gum in his other hand. Todd thanks her and she heads back to her seat.
"Here." Todd says holding both out to me.
"Uh... I'm sixteen."
"It will relax you." He say simply pushing the glass in my direction. "And it is good to chew gum taking off and landing."
I do what he says downing the scotch quickly. I feel it burn down the back of my throats and I cough. Todd chuckles at me before handing me a piece of gum. As I chew the gum my ears pop a couple of times. Time passes quickly once the seatbelt sign is turned off.
"And there is home." Todd say pointing out the window as we fly over the Golden Gate Bridge.
"What? You live on a bridge?" I ask jokingly.
"Yeah good one Mace. No I mean San Fran. I love it."
We are let of the plane first. We walk out through the arrivals gate. Todd walks towards a man holding a sign that says 'Barrett'. Todd shakes the man hands who smiles at the sight of us.
"You must be Miss Williams." The man say holding out his hand which I shake.
"Macy this is James he is our driver." Todd says. Driver? Is he for real? "James this is Macy Williams, my daughter." I smiles as he says daughter.
"It is great to meet you."
"Likewise. Shall we leave sir? Mrs Barrett told me get you home as soon as possible."
"Thank you James." Todd says we collect our luggage quickly. James and Todd both insist on not letting me carry anything so I left just holding my phone as we walk out to another limo.
James and Todd talk as we drive away from the airport. I scroll through my phone reading the six contacts Todd stored in my phone. Ethan Barrett, Hugh Barrett, Jackson Barrett, Jennifer Barrett, James Parker, Kingsley Barrett, Maverick Barrett, Reuben Barrett, Todd Barrett.
I play with a couple of different apps on my phone before settling back in the comfy seat.
"Not to much further." Todd says turning his attention to me. "Everything ok?"
He asks turning his attention to the phone I my hands."Yeah. Just learning." I say with a shrug.
"Want to take photo?" Todd asks and I look at him confused. He taps the camera app on my phone and I hold it up in front us. The two us smiles at the screen as Todd captures the picture. "Nice one." Todd says looking through them. "Here this is how you send it to me."
The rest of our journey is spent with Todd talking me through sending messages and making calls.
"Sir we are here." James' voice snaps us out of our phone lesson.
"Thank you James." Todd says as the limo slows to a stop. Todd takes my hand helping me out and I look up at the biggest house I have ever seen.
"This is your house?" I ask but my question goes unheard as the most beautiful woman I have ever seen step out of the most amazing house.
