Chapter 8 (Captain's P.O.V.)

Groggily the fiery redhead sits up and rubs his eyes with a yawn. "What time is it?" he mumbles and squints around. He runs his fingers through his hair and stretches. He hears the door click and his attention snaps to it's location. "What were you doing?"

"Getting breakfast," she mutters with a frown. "I didn't think you'd get up."

"I locked that door."

"And I unlocked it."

Instantly he is in front of her and picks her up by her shirt. "You were supposed to stay in here."

"You didn't tell me that! You just told me I was sleeping in here, not that I had to stay!" she shouts back. 

He slams her up against the wall (and not in a kinky way). "I didn't think you could get out."

"So you miscalculated. That's not my problem," the tigress glowers.

Unable to make a come back to that he points to a thin metal bar that was laying in the corner of his room and twitches his fingers towards him. With a mind of it's own the bar flings itself into his hand. He places it on top of her wrist and she watches it bend until the ends connects. "Go on. Try to run away. We'll be arriving on Shabaody in the next hour or so. If you can get away you're free to go."

Eustass watches as her face lights up with hope and he smirks. Just you try to run.

With amusement the sadistic pirate watches as his captive watches for a chance to escape. If she could. Like that is a possibility. He smirks and waits his chance for her to see that resistance is futile. 

Her smile grows as she sees her old apartment building drawing close. She slows down her pace and lets the others walk ahead of her. Some of them glance but none of them really look like they care. 

Kidd could sense her adrenaline rushing. He hears her start to run to the left as they continue forward. He taps the makeshift bracelet on his own wrist and it pulls toward the left. In response he pulls to the right.

"Ahhh!" he hears a girlish scream and his grin grows wild. Thump-thump- a random "hey watch it" can be heard.

About a minute after the group reaches the big screen the hothead feels a wait on his wrist. He looks down and grins at the look of dismay painted on her face.

"I never had a chance did I?" she whispers.

"None at all," he barks and laughs heartily. "None at all." 

The broadcasts start on the screens and everyone in the immediate area (well it is assumed everywhere) have their attention consumed by it.

The Dark Doctor and his crew have returned to the ship after watching the big screens. It seems she knows a little about what will happen. Maybe. Anyone could have predicted the battle. "Make haste to Marineford!" he orders.

The crew scramble to their positions and head toward their location.

"Captain, why are we going to the battle? Surely we'll be killed!" one of his underlings hesitantly asks while steering the ship.

"We're not going there to fight. Just merely lend a hand."

That is all that is said. The members wait in anticipation for what is about to take place. They are going to see history in the making. As they near their destination Law waits for his moment to pop out right next to the door, hoping this goes smoothly.

Another short one! When I write fanfic I like keeping it at the same length as the original work it's based on. Manga chapters are short and don't cover much in each chapter. I know this bothers some people but it's my preference. ^-^ Thank you all for the support! The chapters will get longer after this next one because nothing is written about the crews until the time skip (and even so Kidd isn't mentioned much). So now I get to make up my own little story. Can you guess where Kidd's Crew will go to next? :3
