"Look, I've tried so hard to stay away from her. It's not working. I can't seem to stay away from her." I rushed to write down in my journal. Not a diary. A journal. It helps me get things out of me that I've held inside.

I forgot to mention my name. I'm Jake. I have black hair, always in my face the way I like it, I'm really pale, and I wear black ALL the time. Kids at school call me "emo" although I don't know why. Anyway, the girl with golden eyes, she captivates me with one stare into my ocean blue eyes. It's something I can't fight back. Believe me, I tried.

"Today, she looked and talked to me. I couldn't help but notice her staring at me. I was interested, so I said something to her. It went a little something like this 'Hey, I'm Jake. Uh...' (I got really nervous) 'Would you like to go out with me sometime?' She actually said yes! ' (I, in a way, fangirled) she's perfect. Every little thing about her."

So today is Tuesday, I get to go out on a date with Crystal, that's the girl with golden eyes' name, on Friday. I cannot wait! I asked her what movie she wanted to go see, she said "The one with everyone who goes on a killing spree." I wonder why she chose that one.

"So it's Friday, and I'm super nervous. I'm gonna make a fool out of myself."

There we were. The only ones in the theater. The grossed part is on the screen and we couldn't take our eyes off it. I could tell Crystal loved it as much as myself. I turned to see her beautiful smile light up the dark room, almost like candle light shining in the windows of peoples' house during the holidays.

"That movie was good." Crystal finally deciding to speak, "wanna go back to my place? I made food for us. I don't know if it'll be your cup of tea but I hope so."

Crystal didn't want to make a fool of herself. She liked Jake for an eternity it seems. She didn't know Jake liked her back until Tuesday. That night Crystal couldn't sleep, even if it was to save her life. She was too excited.

Without hesitating, Jake replied "Of course. You'd have to be crazy not to go to your house after an amazing date."

As they walked to Crystal's house, Crystal thought about how she'd tell Jake her little secret. She just didn't understand why of all people, it happened to her.

"Hey Jake, can I trust you?"

"Of course you can."

"I know you know my eyes aren't normal. I know they aren't."

"And?"

"Well, see, I kind of made this deal. There's this beautiful angel people often mistake as a little red guy who always steals souls from the miserable. He and I made a deal. My dad had passed away, someone murdered him. I wanted revenge. So this beautiful angel started to appear. I saw him in my dreams, and everywhere I went. He followed me everywhere I went. He watched me sleep. But anyway, me and this angel made a deal, I get revenge on the person who killed my father, he gets my beautiful blue eyes.... Along with a sacrifice. I plan on sacrificing my father's murderer."

Jake didn't know what to say, so he leaned in to give Crystal a hug. Not a small one either. That was a lot to hide from someone she felt she known a lifetime.

(Jake's POV)

So I learned about Crystal's eyes. I still can't believe she made a deal with the devil himself. I don't know who killed her father, but I wan't to know. I want to help Crystal get her eyes back. I don't know how I'm going to help her get rid of him, but I will. I will for Crystal. I love her.

So after all that'd happened, Crystal and I became the cutest couple at school. We even got 'most likely to get married and shit'. That's something to be proud of. I seriously wonder why they chose us. Maybe it was because Crystal did all the cute part for me and I was just along for the ride. I was happy with us no matter what, and no one could tear us apart.

(Crystal POV)

I keep getting closer and closer to finding out who had murdered my father. I spent countless hours doing research and I found a guy around here who has been charged with 4 attempted murders. Kinda scary now that I think about it. What if I were to come face to face with this guy? Would he take me out the same way he did with my father? Would he point a gun to my head and pull the trigger? I guess I won't find out until I know what kind of sick, twisted person he really is. I don't understand why he chose my father out of all people. I mean, we aren't rich by all means, we just have nice things. If I were him, I would go with Mr. Sanders, my neighbor. Complete jerk. He thinks he can push everyone around just because he's the mayor, well he can't. Looks like I'm gonna have to take matters into my own hands with Jake right by my side, and whatever happens, happens.

(Jake's POV)

Crystal is seriously too perfect. She wants ME out of ALL people to help her find her father's murderer. I couldn't be more thrilled. We're heading to Mr. Sanders' place after he leaves for work to look for evidence that he killed Crystal's dad. I can tell he did. I have that feeling in my stomach, and it's not a very good one. I don't feel this way unless something bad is bound to happen. I wonder what he'd do to us if he caught us. Would he kill us right on the spot? Would he let it go? Or would he call the police? Which is the last thing I'd want him to do. I don't know, I guess we'll just have to find out.

Crystal and Jake walked to their next door neighbor's house, little did they know, that he never left for work that evening. They broke into the house and began to search Mr. Sanders' room. They couldn't find a thing.

Jake screamed to Crystal, who is downstairs, "Hey! I can't find anything up here, any luck down there?!"

Mr. Sanders had heard Jake yelling to Crystal. Quite in shock, he held the door to his bathroom tight. He didn't want to come out and make a scene. He just let them look for what they wanted, and when they left, he'd come out and make sure everything was the same as it was before they entered his house.

"Nope! Nothing! Just they same old family picture in each drawer!" Yelled Crystal.

They both met halfway into the hallway.

"Maybe he isn't the killer."

This caused a spark of anger to go off in Mr. Sanders. He popped out of the bedroom, raging.

"HOW DARE YOU STUPID, IGNORANT KIDS THINK I KILLED SOMEONE?! AN INNOCENT PERSON?!"

The two, Jake and Crystal, stood still. Than they knew they were busted. Nothing would be the same.

"I'm sorry, Crystal's father was murdered and we just wanted to find who the killer was."

"Well I can tell you one thing, it isn't me." Said Mr. Sanders.

"How do we know that? I'm sure a person like you, with nothing to hide, would tell us why you're not the murderer?"

"When was he killed?"

"August 23, 2013 at 5:33 pm."

"I was at home. Asleep. People like you two are the reason it's HARD to sleep. Here I was, just sitting at home, then I hear screaming at each other about me killing someone? I'm sorry guys, but really have the wrong person. Maybe try finding your killer on the other side of town."

So Jake and Crystal left. With no words to be said, they were both shocked that Mr. Sanders was even home. After much contemplation, they decided to look for the killer the next day. But what happens if they do find him? Who on Earth would want to kill an innocent father of 3? I don't know. This world is pretty messed up. It's okay to have guns, but yet we judge people for their sexual orientation? Yeah, it's a messed up world.

"The killer has to be somewhere, we should check the other part of town. My dad always went there for business trips." Crystal said.
