Mahiru x reader: Rain

"I'm so excited!" (BFF1) and (BFF2) chuckled at your cheerfulness, as you squealed excitedly. (BFF1) saw a certain brunet walking your way. You looked at (BFF1) and noticed she was making a smug face at you.  Creeped out, you asked. "W-What?" But your friends still smirked at you. "(F/n)." A familiar voice called for you. You felt shivers as your best friends looked at you evilly, as if they are planning something. They then 'accidentally' pushed you towards a guy.

"(F/n), are you alright?" The guy said. It was Mahiru. "Yeah, thanks for catching me." Mumbling, you hid your blush successfully from the guy . "We're going somewhere else~" (BFF2) said and walked away. "Again?" You said and shook your head in amusement. Your friends always do this when Mahiru's around. "Well, I guess we could walk home together...?" Mahiru suggested, on which you agreed.

The sound of water hitting the window cause you to realize it was raining. 'Whoa, it just feels like a scene in a shoujo anime.' You thought boringly with a poker face. "I forgot to bring my umbrella." Mahiru said sheepishly and laughed nervously. "The weather didn't even mention anything about rain... so I didn't bring mine." You said bluntly. "How are we going home?" You asked. Mahiru thought for a while. "I think we should wait for a while, or just search for an umbrella somewhere. I heard that the teachers have spare ones in a box or something like that." Mahiru explained.

Not wanting to be in an awkward situations anymore, you grabbed Mahiru's hand and pulled him. "Let's search for them." You said. The cat on Mahiru meowed in agreement.

'Strange...' you thought. It seems like the cat could understand you. Being the curious girl you were you asked. "By the way Mahiru. I've been noticing something off about your cat though. How can it understand humans so much? And how can it use forks? I've been training my dog(pretend you have one if you don't have one) for a long time and he couldn't understand me so well, but that's what I love about him. But really, it's been bugging my mind for a long time."The look on Mahiru's face made you worried. The cat also seemed to flinch.

"Mahiru?" You called for the guy. Mahiru looked somewhere else, not looking at you . "I found one umbrella, we could use it." Mahiru said, clearly avoiding your question. "Okay." With that, the two of you left the school. The rain hasn't died down and it was pretty windy out there. It was also pretty could, which result with you shivering from the cold. You felt something covering you and noticed it was Mahiru's jacket. Blushing, you thanked him.

When the two of you arrived at your house, you turned around to face the brunet. "(F/n), is there something?" Mahiru asked. You simply gave a small peck on his cheek and walked in your house. When you walked in, you slid down the door, blushing. 'Oh my gosh!' You thought, embarrassed. Meanwhile, Mahiru stood outside, a huge blush was clearly seen on his face.
