Location: Washington D.C.
Time: 11:34 am."Lydia..." A voice says as I awake with a start. I see my boyfriend, Stiles sitting on top of me smiling and laughing.
"Stiles, why did you wake me up?!" I ask pushing him off me as I sit up.
"We have breakfast with my boss at 12:15. Get up!" He says as he climbs off the bed.
"Oh shit." I say as I pull off the covers and yawn.
I walk to my closet and put on a nice white dress with pink laces. I turn around to see Stiles staring at me.
"What?" I ask laughing nervously.
"You are so beautiful Lydia." He says turning his head away.
I smile and head to the bathroom. I open the cupboard and grab my eyeliner and lipstick. I start to apply my lipstick when Stiles screams my name.
"Lydia! Where is my tuxedo?!" He asks as he runs into the bathroom.
"I haven't seen it since the other day. I think it might be in the laundry basket." I say turning back to look in the mirror.
"Alright, I'll check." Stiles says grunting as he stomps over to the laundry bin.
Just as I continue applying my lipstick, he screams my name again.
"Lydia! It's not here!" He says as he runs back into the bathroom.
"I'm sorry, babe. I threw it away." I say smiling apologetically.
"You what?! Why?" He says as his jaw falls to the floor.
"It didn't look good on you, truthfully. But! To make up for it I bought you a brand new one!" I say pulling it out of the bathroom closet and handing it to him.
"Thanks. Be ready in 5." He says slamming the door behind him.
I finish my lipstick and start applying eyeliner. Once I'm finished I open the door and head to the elevator. As I wait for the elevator to come, my phone buzzes in my pocket. Stiles sent me a message. I slide up and open it. It reads 'waiting by the car. pls hurry xx.' I hear the ding of the elevator and step in. I press the 1st floor and wait till the door opens. I notice a scratch mark on the side of the elevator panel. It reads a couple of words in Russian that I can't make out. I snap a picture of it on my phone just as the elevator opens. I walk out towards the revolving door and then to the car. I see Stiles sitting in the drivers seat tapping his fingers on the wheel. I open the passenger door and buckle my seatbelt. I notice Stiles seatbelt was unbuckled.
"Hey daredevil! Buckle up." I say grinning.
He looks down and shrugs at his seatbelt. "We are late." He says as he presses on the gas pedal.
Little did I know those were his very last words.
---
The car ride there was very quiet. Stiles and I only glanced at each other once in a while. Something was up with him I could tell. To distract myself I pulled up the picture of the Russian letters in the elevator. I wanted to know what they meant. I saw Stiles tapping his fingers faster and faster.
I then started to talk, "Stiles, is everything okay? Are you oka---" I was interrupted by a loud car horn. Stiles and I turned our heads to see the headlights of an incoming truck. Stiles jolted to a stop but he was too late. The last thing I saw was the truck plummeting towards our car and Stiles looking at me in fear.
