Dream or not a dream?

I chase after the screaming children making sure that I’m running slow enough for them so they think that they are much too fast for me, I pretend that I’m out of breath and dramatically fall on the ground whining and complaining.

“Wow, you guys are just too fast for me” I say while rolling around in the grass messing up my mid waist blonde hair.

“I just don’t know if I can…. Run…..anymore” I dramatically pause and let a sigh escape my lips and close my eyes. All the neighbourhood kids come running up to me asking if I’m okay, for 3 to 7 year olds they sure know how to shake someone violently.

“Mummy!” I hear Jackson’s little feet run towards his mother.

“Mummy, Cameron is dead!” he shouts at her. I tilt my head ever so slightly giving Jackson’s mother a small wink, she immediately catches on and so does the rest.

“oh dear Jackson we better call the ambulance” she says trying to convince her son that she is actually worried. I hear fake sirens echo the yard and see Michael running around the yard in a circle with his hand in the air and his index finger sticking out while twirling it around to make it look like some sort of flashing light. As the little charade carries on I realise that all of the kids have left my side to go join in with Michael, the charade carries on obviously forgetting why it even started in the first place.

My body sends me shots of hot flushes actually no not just hot flushes, it feels like fire racing up and down my body, I look around frantically only to see 1 person left standing in the yard on this beautiful January morning well it was beautiful until I saw the expression that was plastered on Michael’s face it was mixed with pure sorrow but complete and utter pride his once ocean blue eyes are now a deep black, another “fire ball” came flying throughout my body sending me into a frenzy of constant squirming. I finally decided to roll over onto my back and look down at my tanned body. My mouth dropped at the sight in front of me.
