My storm

storms used to comfort me.

storms used to comfort me, because on the day we met,

we got stuck in one and you'd never looked more beautiful than you were soaked in my arms.

storms used to comfort me, because I told you I'd never kissed in the rain,

so you dragged me outside in the middle of lightening, and made sure it was electric.

storms used to comfort me, because on days I felt worthless,

the sky showed that even if I hit the bottom, you could be my sidewalk.

storms used to comfort me, because no matter how heavy it made my eyes,

you were there to hold me until it was over

storms used to comfort me because thunder reminded me

of how hard my heart punded at the thought of your touch

storms used to comfort me because even if  the lights went out,

you protected me from the darkness

storms used to comfort me because even on my worst days,

you were my sunshine that showed through each cloud

storms used to comfort me because the time you slept with someone else, and me right after;

the rain did so well at washing away the feeling.

storms used to comfort me because the day you left me for another woman,

the sky related so well because it had as much water in it as i did my eyes

storms used to comfort me until i realized

storms remind me of you.
