I watched as he carried the luggage through the doors. I glanced back to my mother, who was still rambling on about what could happen while I was here.

" Mother." I said annoyed,

"I'll be fine. It's only for a few weeks and it's not like I'm going to be alone with him. Aunty Laney is going to be here."

"My sister is crazy for choosing this place." She continued. Mother was worried about me being around haunted place. Lets take a moment. My name is Iggy, a normal 15 year old who loves reading and doing stupid things, my mother always seemed worried about me, especially when it was about ghosts. I've never really understood why and whenever I asked she always said it was something about my father. I never knew my father. Mom never told me anything either and I never really asked. I was perfect with the life I had, Mom, Dillon and Aunty Laney was all I needed. Dillon was my best friend. Mom always wanted me to be near him, which was no problem with me. Me and him could almost never be separated.

"Mom!" I said, even more annoyed then before.

"You know you love her. I never understand what's wrong with you and haunted places." My mother looked at me very seriously.

"It's not what's wrong with me, it's what could happen to you two." She said and walked towards the car without so much of a goodbye.

"Bye?" I said quietly as she drove off. Mom never acted like that, what had she meant, 'what could happen to you two'? Did she mean me and Dillon? I hope not. I turned on my heels and walked towards the hotel, just as soon as Dillon came out of the doors. His huge smile was so infectious, it faded slowly.

"Where did Mom go?" He asked, I shrugged and muttered

"Drove off." He frowned harder.

"That's not like her." He said looking at me seriously. I shrugged again and walked through the door. He followed close behind me. The moment I walked through those doors I gasped. It was so beautiful, the doors were wide and the glass was polished. The whole floor was decorated with red and gold. It looked like an living room from an old mansion. Dillon smiled at me and walked towards the elevator. I moved towards him, in awe of my soundings.

"Iggy, walk any slower and you'll have to take the next one." Dillon said with a chuckle. I quickly sped walked towards him while he laughed at me. I glared at him, while he pushed the button.

"I could of taken the stairs." I mumbled. He rolled and eyes.

"Aunt Laney said our room is on the fourth floor, which also happens-"

"If your about to tell me about someone's death then you can stop there." I said cutting him off. His mouth shut quickly. I laughed softly. Dillon was always interested with haunted places and it turns out, the place were staying at is one of the most haunted places in the US. Score for him.

"Iggy, I'm really sure you're gonna want to know what happened on the fourth floor." He said with a little whine. I sighed and rolled my eyes.

"Fine, what happened?" He perked up like a little child.

"A little girl fell off the staircase." He said. Suddenly taking the stairs wasn't such a great idea. I starred at him. His huge grin creeping me out.

"Why would I want to know that?" I said slowly. His grin only got bigger.

"So you wouldn't take the stairs and leave poor old me alone on the elevator." I punched him in the shoulder.

"Ow!" He yelp grabbing his arm. I smirked and turn towards the doors, which slowly opened.

" What room?" I asked looking up and down the hallways, wearily looking at the staircase. He slowly walked behind me, watching me to make sure I wouldn't punch him again.

"Should be room 418." He said.

"Left or right?"

"Left." He said, I grinned.

"Race you there!" I said in a childish voice. He grinned.

"You're on!" He said taking off. My eyes widened in surprise before I ran after him. He looked back at me and then at the doors. He stopped quickly in front of the door that I assumed was our room.

"Slowpoke." He said when I stopped next to him. I reared my hand back, but he quickly went into the room before I could hit him.

"Dillon!" I yelled. I could hear him laugh in the room. I rushed in the room and looked around like a crazy person. Dillon sat on one of the beds paying no attention to me. I ran towards him and tackled him. He yelped and tried to push me off.

"Now now, Iggy lets not destroy the room yet." A voice said. I turned.

"Aunty Laney!" I said jumping into her hug.

"Oh Iggy! You've gotten bigger." She said pulling me into a bear hug.

"Aunt Laney! You can't smother me!" I said pushing her off of me. She laughed and went to go pull Dillon into a huge hug.

"You see, I won't try to get away from your hugs Aunt Laney." Dillon said. She laughed again.

"Oh how I missed you guys!"

"We missed you too." We said in unison. I grinned at him. She looked at us with a huge smile.

"So, what are we going to do while we're here Aunty?" I asked.

"Well for now were going to have out fun with a little ghost haunting." She said, Dillon sat up a little, but when he looked at me, he slouched again. Dillon never wants do anything I don't want to do, but for once, it actually sounded like fun.

"Cool!" I said with a huge smile. Dillon gave me a sideways look and I gave him a thumbs up. A smile slowly made its way to his face.

"But we have to unpack first, we'll be here for awhile." She said with a stern face. Our smile disappears.
