A Drop In the Water

'A drop in the water 'is what I've been called before. Its a harder phrase to live with because you're in a way being called a nobody. And now I have started to believe it. My only friend is the posters I have in my locker and my Physics teacher. I am a nobody. And nobody cares. Deserted. A deserted heart. A deserted mind. A deserted life. I have them all stuck on my face. People can see it. I can clear a room by walking into it. I can change conversations by doing something. I can also attract undesired stares from people. At one time I used to be popular. But then I had to move from Cali to Oklahoma for my dad's job. I was never popular again. I'm in ninth grade a supposedly "memorable" year and I'm off to a wonderful start. I've been pushed down twice, I've been beat up four times and I've been raped in school before, only once though thank god. So I've been through it all. Any drill or talk you've had with your mom, it's happened to me at least once. And it's not pleasantly wanted or forced.

..................

After my favorite class, Gym because I always gets hit with the dodge ball, it's finally lunchtime. I am going to study for my Physics quiz after lunch. I walk to the lunchroom and my eyes swoop to an area where the sweetest voice is coming from and I see a perfectly tan boy/man with a perfectly chiseled cheekbones and hair that was the color of honey mixed with light brown. He was wearing a dark blue polo shirt that was unbuttoned just enough to show some of his perfectly sculpted chest and blue jeans that matched his deep blue eyes. Who was this hunk of boy/man? Because I want a slice of this cake.

.................

I got home late because I had to work on the school paper so it could be released tomorrow. When I was walking out of the computer lab I ran into, literally ran into, mister hunk boy/man! I haven't realized how tall he is until now. "Uhh...Hi?" I said like an airhead. "Hi. Talia right?" He asked. "Yeah. How'd you know?!", "You're kinda popular in conversation." He said like I should have known. "I am that's weird because I'm as dorky as you can get and I am totally totally worried I'm gonna be like on the wall of fame for most geeky girl or most girl beaten up in a year or something else crazy like that...and I'm babbling...again.", "It's okay I'm used to that, I have a sister that's thirteen at home and she's worried about this guy she really likes." he said my eyes going to his lips. "Whats your name, again?" I asked like a fucking airhead. "I haven't told you my name yet. But it's Jay, Jay Crerch. I was about to go get something to eat, do you wanna come, it's not a date or anything." Jay asked hopefully. "Uhhh...ye...yeah that would be great." I said thinking I knew this was a date. "Where do you want to go?" Jay asked adoringly.
