I hated walking the boardwalk at night. it was so cold, yet so bright. It was December, that's all I remembered. Not the day or the hour. I felt the small snowflakes fall into my skin and coat, looking up at the ferris wheels lights. They were still on and shinning bright in the moon light sky. Feet hitting the thick and fading wood, I sat on the edge, was I really about to do this? I pulled out the small shiny piece of metal placing the cold blade on my wrist, I smiled and pressed down slightly sliding it across my warm tan arm. The blood trickling from my wrist as I made another cut. Blonde locks falling from my shoulders as my green eyes watched the blade dance across my wrist one last time. Before I knew it, I was gone.

It was September 2nd, one warm autumn morning. Blonde hair wrapped up in a messy bun, hands holding a cup of coffee. I'm going to miss the warm summer months. Taking a sip of my steaming hot coffee I look outside the window of my small apartment over looking the city of Oakland, California. Green eyes glancing from place to place.
"Lily Kate!" I jumped at the sound of my name being called nearly spilling my coffee all over my old pajamas. Turning to the sound of the voice in the other room I soon recognized it as James, my long term boyfriend. I feel bad that he has to work today but we needed the money.
"Yeah?" I ask poking my head in the doorway
"Make me coffee?" He asked still facing the mirror, adjusting his tie. Working at Macaroni Grill wasn't the best job ever but it kept us on our feet.
"Sure"
"Thanks"
Walking back into the kitchen and setting my coffee mug on the counter I opened the dark oak cabinet and pulled out his travel mug. Setting it on the counter and gently closing the cabinet door I poured black coffee into the opened mug till it was close to the top, popping open the sugar container I put a table spoon and stirred. Screwing the top on I yelled "all done!" Before resting the red travel mug on the bar.
My life was a mess, I was home alone most of the time, being 19 wasn't easy when you didn't have a job or go to college. James walked out of the bedroom, grabbing his wallet, keys and coffee and kissing my cheek "see you at sixish" he told me before I could reply he was out the door.
