My name is Deena, Deena Adler. I never actually knew my real parents as I was adopted into this family. My real parents I guess just didn't want me. I hate asking my parents about them because my mom always gets a little bit upset and I hate seeing her upset.  My dad, I couldn't really care less about. He would always come home getting drunk and "secretly" hooking up with random women. I guess it wasn't really a secret because I knew, but somehow, my mom didn't. When I was younger though, my mom did tell me that my real parents were bad people and I should never trust them should I ever come across them. She never told me their names though. All I actually found out was that they were Voldemort followers. Were. Voldemort is dead. Never to be seen again.

Enough about them, it's supposed to be a good day. I'm starting my first year at Hogwarts. I heard that Harry Potter was going to be there this year. The boy who lived. I've always wanted to meet him someday, today is my day. I hope. I've already bought my things with mum a few days ago. In a few minutes, we would be going to platform nine and three quarters.
Mum went to Hogwarts and she was a Gryffindor, obviously I have to be a Gryffindor too. Since I already knew which house I was going to be in, I really didn't worry. Gryffindor would be fun.

~~
"Bye mum! I'll miss you!" I said as I turned to get onto the train.
"Bye Deena! I love you so much! Be safe!" She said as tears stained her face. My mum was the only one who dropped me off, dad was probably drinking right now. I tried to find a place to sit, but almost every place was taken. I walked by each compartment, looking in to see who might be in there, but this one, there was a blonde headed boy, hair as white as mine. He was just as pale as me too. We made eye contact for what seemed like forever, our eye color was even pretty close. I finally broke the awkward eye contact, moving on to the next compartment for a seat.

~~
Finally, I came across a compartment with only three people in it, I opened the door with a few squeaks. "Mind if I sit?" I asked feeling pretty confident. The girl with brown frizzy hair looked up and nodded with a smile, "go right ahead," she motioned for the empty seat next to her. I sat down as they introduced themselves, Hermione, the girl with brown frizzy hair. Neville, short brown hair. And Sheamus, light brown short hair, but Sheamus had a skinnier face than Neville.
"I'm Deena Adler," I said as they all introduced themselves.

~~
After a while of sitting in a small compartment, the toad that Neville was holding jumped out of his hands, we all tried to catch it as he hopped around. In the  commotion, my foot hit the door making it accidentally open. The toad realized that the door was open and hopped right out side hopping in one direction that no one had actually noticed the direction it went in. Everyone stood up and left the compartment. Sheamus and Neville went one way while I followed Hermione the other way down the train. She was bursting into people's compartments asking if they had seen a toad anywhere and when they said no, she moved on with me close on her heels.

~~
She entered an opened the compartment and sighed after looking around in it. "has anyone seen a toad? A boy named Neville's lost one." She said to the two boys, one which was a little red head with dirt on his nose and the other with dark hair and round glasses.

"No," the red head said looking a little bit confused.

"Oh, are you doing magic?" Hermione asked curiously. "Let's see than," she motioned for the red head to continue.

He cleared his throat before saying the spell he was going to use, "sunshine, daisies, butter mellow, turn this stupid fat rat yellow!" He pointed his wand at his rat. The box that his rat was sniffing around in, flew off of the red heads knee and the rat screeched a little in horror. The red head shrugged at the other boy, the boy repeating the red heads actions, shrugging back.
