Chapter Four: Paul's Revenge.

     We all wake up around the same time. Paul and Zoey leave right away, and everyone else decides to stay to hang out for a while.

     "If we are all here when it's dark, we could play Slender!" ((A/N I don't own Slender)) I said.

     "Yeh!" Everyone replied.

     "But, let's go get some donuts!" Ash said.

     We all sweatdropped, but quickly agreed. After we got dressed, My mom came out of her room.

     "Hey, Dawn, your school called me, and they were talking about a talent show. Do you want to join?" She asked.

     I considered my options. If I say yes, it'll be quick and easy. If I say no, she will make me do it.

     "Okay." I reply.

     "Yey! I can't wait!" Mom said.

     "Well, we're going to go get donuts! Bye, mom!"

     "Okay, Dawn, have fun!"

     After we close the front door, I let out a huge sigh.

     "You don't want to join the talent show? Why did you then?" Misty asks me.

     "If I said no, my mom would make me. I just took the easy and fast path." I reply.

     "Okay."

     We walk down the street, towards the donut shop. We walk in awkward silence, and after a few minutes, we finally arrive at the donut shop. Paul and Zoey are in there.

     "Ash, follow me. " Paul says, grabbing his wrost and dragging him out of the shop.

     "W- wait!" Ash says.

      Worried, we follow him. Paul tugs Ash to the back of the store, and pins him to the wall.

     "Wait! What's going on?" I say, running towards him. I'm blocked off by a punch in the face. I fall to the floor, and look up to see Zoey towering above me.

     In the backround, I hear Ash call my name in a worried tone.

     "Going somewhere?" She asks with a smirk.

     Behind Zoey, I see Paul punch Ash. Then, everyone runs to help Ash. Paul has him in a position where Ash can't fight back. I get up.

     "Ash!" I scream.

Ash's POV

     Paul grabbed my wrist and dragged me out of the store.

     Nooo! My donut! I think as I say "W-wait!"

     He drags me to the back of the store with Zoey tailing him. Hepins me to the wall, and in a position where I can't struggle. I soon see Dawn and the others run to here.

     Dawn sees Paul and I, and says "Wait! What's going on?" She runs towards me. Zoey punches her, and Dawn falls to the ground with a bloody nose.

     "Dawn!" I shout.

     Zoey towers above Dawn, and says something I can't quite make out. Soon after, I get punched in the nose by Paul.

     Dawn sees him punch me, and screams my name. By now, all my friends run towards me, and Dawn gets up too. Zoey can't block them all. But she can, with help. A group of people run out of the bushes, all with bats. They hit everyone they can, and soon it's just them, Zoey, me, and Paul.

     "L-let me go!" I scream.

     "I don't think you understand why I'm doing this. You're competition. I need to kill you to get to Dawn." Paul hisses.

     "You think killing Dawn's friend will make her love you?" I spit.

     "No, but once I kill you, I will do things you can't imagine to her."

     "No! Leave her alone!" I struggle, even though in thins position, I'm just barely moving.

     "Hmmm.... Nah, I'd rather not listen to a dunce idiot." He pulls out a gun, and points it at my forehead.

     "You don't have the guts to." I say.

     "Oh yes I do." He says.

     Out of the corner of my eye, I see Dawn get up. Just as Paul pulls the trigger, she tackles him. The bullet hits my shoulder, and everything goes black.

     I wake up in an unfamiliar place. My first thought is that I'm dead, but the I remember Dawn tackling Paul. Is she okay? Did Paul shoot her, too? I open my eyes wider so I can see, but everything is blurry. I attempt to sit up, and a jolt of burning hot pain sears through my left shoulder. Someone pushes me down? I can't see who, I can barely see anything.

     "Don't worry" the person says. I feel a sting in my arm, and I soon fall asleep.

Dawn's POV

I get up from Zoey's punch, covering my nose. It is definately broken. Everyone runs towards Paul, so I join them. After two steps, people run out of the bushes with bats.

     Oh, so that was their plan. I think, trying to devise a way to avoid getting hit with a bat. If I don't pass out, I can help Ash. As a man hits May, I fall to the ground like I've been hit.

     Just pretend to be knocked out, then get up when Ash needs you. I have my eyes to a point where they look closed, but I can see a little still. I see Ash and Paul talking, then Paul pulls out a gun. Now. I leap up, and run towards Paul as he puts the gun to Ash's forehead. I tackle him just as he pulls the trigger, so the bullet hits Ash's shoulder instead. At least hehas a chance to live. Paul pushes me off of him.

     "Since I like you, I won't kill you" He says, shooting my legs. I fall to the ground, gripping to consousnous. But, it soon slips away.
