Death's Eye

Chapter 1

The sunlight shone through the bedroom windows directly towards his face. His eyes twitches from the bright light before opening them slowly, showing his beautiful amethyst iris with a matching indigo hair. He sits up and looked around his room, seeing his shimmering armor hanging on the wooden stand and his spear sitting next to it across the room.

He slides his legs from the bed, down to the floor to reach his sandals. As soon he stood up from the bed, a gentle knock coming from the wooden door of his bedroom can be heard.

"The door is open," as he is fixing the bed he was just sleeping from, "You may come in."

The wooden door slowly opened, revealing a young girl in her early teens wearing a large pointed hat and a robe to pair. After finishing fixing his bed, he walked towards the young girl, as she looks up to him revealing the same amethyst iris.

"What is it that you wish to tell me, Luanda?"

"Sir Leo, you have been called by King Memnach in the castle. I have finished preparing your breakfast."

"Are you not going to join me?"

"I have already ate my breakfast, Sir Leo, as I am needed by the Grand Wizard at the Heian Magic Academy."

"Understandable, I appreciate the information you gave me. You may go now, Luanda."

"As you wish, I will now head off, Sir Leo."

Luanda turned around to leave the room while closing the wooden door behind her gently. Leo proceeds on wearing the armor that was on the stand and picks up the spear that was beside it. He headed out of his own bedroom, and went down the stairs.

As he is going down, he can already catch the scent of the food that Luanda has made for him by the stairs. He entered the dining room, there he saw loaves of bread in a basket and the mushroom soup that is in the bowl.

"My dear sister, she does possess our mother's skills when it comes to cooking." Leo thought to himself as he sits down to consume his food.

He grabbed a loaf from the basket and breaks it into half, listening to the crisp of the crust and soft moistened texture of the inside. Soaking the bread from his hand into the mushroom soup, placing the soaked bread filled with the flavorful soup into his mouth.

"Luanda never fails to compliment the scent of her food with the delectable taste of it." Leo continued eating the breakfast that she has made.

After eating his breakfast, he heads out from their house walked straight to his black horse with white spots around its body that is leashed on the post that is connected to the side of their house. Leo unleashed his horse and leads its way towards the main road.

As he reached the main road, he jumped up onto his horse to ride on the saddle. Holding on the reins as the horse started trotting its way towards the castle that is about fifty meters away from their house. As Leo was moving on the main road, townspeople started greeting him by either waving or nodding their head down.

The horse stopped by the front gates of the castle, the gates were opened by the guards that are defending the castle. Leo hopped off from the horse and handing it to one of the guards, gesturing to take his horse in the stable. While Leo is entering the castle, the guards gave him a salute and greeting him in unison, "Good Morning, Sir Leo!"

After entering the castle, he headed straight towards the throne room without hesitation. Upon arriving, the guards are lined up outside the edge of the red carpet that leads from the door up to King Memnach's throne. Leo walks his way up to King Memnach and knelt down his one knee, showing respect to the King's presence.
