Her stomach churned. She swore she would throw up if she didn't find a way to calm down soon. How could she though? It was as if the world had given out beneath her. The hole that had been punched in her chest seemed to grow with every sob. She could hear sirens in the distance, and she tightened her grip around her knees. She ignored the searing pain that rippled through her ribs. She could feel liquid running down her for head, and she assumed it was her blood.

       "Ma'am, are you alright?" She felt someone grab her arm. She was being turned over. A bright light shone into her face and she shielded her eyes with her arm.

        "Ma'am, I need you to tell me if there was anybody else in the vehicle. The ambulance are on their way." She felt every muscle in her body work and she stood. Her knees continued to shake, and the throwing up feeling hadn't passed yet. There she stood facing what used to be her car, and pointed at the ditch to what used to be her nine-year old brother.
