Mingyus life had been wonderful for the first ten years. He had a loving mother and father, a home with a big enough garden to explore and play in all day and as many animal friends as he could wish for.
But then his mother fell ill and even though his parents still loved him dearly, the laughter in his home became less until it finally ran try.
Mingyu still remembers the day his mother died. The hause had already been quiet days before, but that day it felt like even the breathing had stopped, not the smallest noise could be heard.
His dad had looked himself inside his study for the next weeks and ten years old Mingyu had to cook for himself, make sure the house stayed clean and everyone was payed off for his mothers funeral. The worst thing in Mingyus eyes however was that no matter how much he tried, he couldn't cry. He had just lost his mother, one of the two most important people in his life, but he couldn't even shed a tear for her.
The moment his father left his study he had become another men. The loving father Mingyu had cherished so much became cold and emotionless. His father took long travels for work and when he was at home he mostly ignored the young boy.
So spend most of his time alone, cleaning, cooking and managing the rest of the house. The only ones keeping him company where the animals around the house and a few people from town who had been friends with his mother and worried for the boy.
When Mingyu had turned fourteen his father had come back from one of his long journeys and brought a new wife with him. Together with a new mother Mingyu had also gotten two older brothers. Alphas, just like himself as it would turn out.
Young Mingyu who had grown up all on himself as soon as he turned ten, between all the work he had to do on the house, school came a bit short. So did socializing. Not that Mingyu was dumb, he had read pretty much every book in his fathers library. But he had missed out on a couple of sozial "rules" as his new family would call them.
Alphas were supposed to be strong and protect while omegas were the ones to stay at home, cook and do. pretty much everything to please his alpha. Since Mingyu had still been to young to present when he has gotten his new mother and brothers and he had been spending a great amount of time looking after the household, his new mother just assumed that her new, unwelcome son was an omega. And as such, she kept reminding him, he had to learn how to be a good omega and do exactly what was expected from a good omega. Please and do everything she or her sons wanted or needed.
In front of his father she acted like commanding Mingyu around and treating him like her personal slave was so he could get a good mate when he was old enough. And when Mingyu heard her say that no one likes an omega who talks back for the hundredth time, he believed her.
Oddly enough everyone seemed to have forgotten about how Alphas were not supposed to cook or clean, but laze in their beds while omegas did the household, when Mingyu turned eighteen and presented as an alpha.
