My favourite years so far.

The dresses had such detail and the colours were like nothing that had ever been seen before.

I was no longer Kol's play toy so this was the first time in nine hundred years that I was able to enjoy myself and live my life. I stayed with Nik and Rebekah, our family had shrunk over the years but it was still full of trust and love for one another. They were my family in every way but blood. We protected each other form Mikael. I finally felt free.

Dancing and champagne was my new favourite pass time. Rebekah and I danced from dusk 'til dawn and Nik conducted his business during our times of fun.

Gloria, another gem I had met.

She was amazing, a singer and bar owner. A witch and an independent woman in every way possible.

Stefan, a true vampire.

He was dangerous and fun all at once, a true killer and Niklaus' only friend. He was a ripper and it was truly inspiring to see his guilt. He remembered everyone he had ever killed and there was something about that which was honestly beautiful. I couldn't describe in what way but it was making sure people weren't forgotten. I had known villages of people over the years, people who nobody would ever even realise existed. Graveyards were built on and there was no respect for anything nowadays. And I loved it.

We had met Stefan after he had drained a woman. Nik was instantly interested in this killer, which was surprising it took a lot to interest Nik. Although there was something captivating about Stefan I will admit.

Gloria knew him which was an instant green light, he had trusted Gloria and so did I. Rebekah was infatuated with him, of course she pissed him off and acted annoyed continuously but that was how she showed her love and affection to others.

The pair often drained their victims and had bloody sex afterwards. Tonight was no different. I sat awkwardly across from them with a large Martini in front of me. I was waiting for Nik to join us so I didn't feel like the third wheel.

"Its beautiful" He whispers at her as he lifts her necklace off of her chest.

"A witch gave it to me." She says back, not even glancing down at the fine jewellery that used to belong to her mother, knowing the shape of it instantly as it was lifted form her chest. "Supposedly its magical." She glances my way with a smirk on her face.

"And is it?" Stefan asks as he again strokes the silver with his thumb.

"It brought me love, didn't it?" I snort, Rebekah ignores it and reignites the kissing. It wasn't going to last long, whatever business Nik had been on had obviously ended badly and the sight of seeing his sister being groped had pushed his anger over the edge.

"Its late Rebekah, We're leaving." Nik was furious I could see it in his eyes.

"Get off of me!" She shouts

"Who is this guy?" Stefan asks as he throws himself around the table to come to his rescue.

"Stefan, don't he will kill you." She pauses and faces her brother. "He's a lot stronger than he looks.

"So this is the famous Stefan Salvatore I've been hearing so much about." Nik smugly says, raising his eyebrows and looking him up and down like he was dirt on the bottom of his shoe. "You're right. He does have funny hair." He laughs. Stefan stands supportively besides his love and rubs her neck, I stand dutifully besides Nik. "I'm bored. I want to go." He says.

"Perhaps we should go and Rebekah can stay here and enjoy her evening." I say trying to reason with him but it was useless. Rebekah sends me a grateful smile.
