Chapter 7
I knocked on the door, a rhythmic pattern, just the three knocks. I waited for the door to open.
I saw Carter peek in the side window to check who it was. He opened the door and greeted me with a smile, almost so goofy and contagious. "Eva! You look so good!" he yelled.
I hoped I looked good. I put on some mascara for this date, I felt it was appropriate. I wore a blank tank with a cardigan over and a skirt. I really thought through this outfit. I didn't know if it was too much or too little.
His arms wrapped around my waist and I responded by my arms wrapping his neck. "Welcome, come in!" he said and let go of me. It felt as if I'd removed a warm blanket when he slipped away.
I walked into his house and was surprised by its interior. I was in the lobby which linked to the kitchen and the living room. The kitchen was generic, tiles and white appliances. But the living room. It was something. It made me feel like I was in a palace.
I got a full look when Carter led me to it. It didn't surprise me how big it actually was, seeing how nice and fancy it looked from just a glance. His TV towered over the fireplace, about two times wider than the fireplace itself. The couches were made of leather and connected to each other as if to make a semi circle to serve as a barrier to the inside.
"So, what movie you wanna watch?" Carter asked and kneeled down to the shelf filled with movies. "We have recent movies. Frozen, Anchorman 2, this one's not so recent but funny, 21 & Over. Probably the funniest movie I've ever seen."
Hell, I hadn't heard of any of these movies! I just stood still and waited for him to say something else. Bad move?
"Uhm... I think you'd enjoy Frozen. Have you watched it before?" he asked me. I shook my head in response. "I think you'll love it. Just watch it."
"Carter! Dinner is ready!" his mother yelled from the kitchen. "Bring your little girlfriend too!"
"She's not my girlfriend, Mom," he replied as we walked to the kitchen together. "We'll watch the movie after dinner. My mom's headed out to do errands afterwards too, so we can just lounge around if you wanna."
"S-sure," I spat out. I felt intimidated. Was he going to rape me?
It was around 6:40 when we finished dinner. Carter popped Frozen into the CD player and it projected on the flatscreen. He sat on the right side of the couch while I sat on the left side.
"Hey, come here," he said with a motioning arm. I scooted closer to him. "Closer," he said and laughed. I was about three inches from him, was that too far? "Closer!" he said with a smile. His eyes formed wrinkles on the ends because his smile pushed them up. Our thighs were touching and I felt as if we were a little too close.
His hand wrapped around my shoulders. What was he doing? "That's better," he said and gave a relieved sigh. "This feels better than when you were on the other side." He leaned his back on the couch, pushing me with him.
I had to admit, this was comfortable, but very uncomfortable. I predicted something like this was to happen anyways... I put myself into this problem.
Then, my phone went off. Thank God, I had to move from this position. I raced to my phone on the table in front of us and looked at who texted me.
"From Unknown Number: Hey it's Cameron. Got your number from Carter, just wanted to check on you. You're with him right?" it said.
Why would he care? I was just a friend. He's sort of creepy. Seriously, we met at the mall when he tried to hold my hand! I decided not to reply.
"Who's that?" Carter asked when I leaned back into his arm. I shrugged and continued watching the movie.
I wanted to slip away from him somehow. But it was so comfortable and flattering being in his arms too. But I must admit, Carter was being a little creepy too. I barely knew him and he was making a move on me. A big move. Cameron's friends seem like him. Cute yet creepy. It can't be the other way around.
Carter's breath roamed around my neck. I wondered why his breath was there but I didn't care about it much. I felt something warm and soft touch my neck.
"You smell good," I heard Carter whisper as he pecked at my neck.
I became paralyzed at this scene. I couldn't move nor could I even speak. The only thing I could do was breathe and blink.
His lips roamed to my jaw. Then to my cheek. I knew it would move swiftly to my lips.
Did I really want this to happen? I mean, I barely knew Carter. I didn't exactly like him either, I just thought he was cute. But how do I slip away? I can't even turn my neck.
His hands cupped my face and he turned it so I was looking at him. "Gorgeous," he said before our lips touched.
What was he doing?! What was I doing?! What am I supposed to do?! Should I get out of here or let it happen?! I couldn't scream for help, simply because his mother wasn't home, there's no where to go, and Carter isn't attempting assault. I just simply couldn't pull away. I didn't hate it but I didn't love it. I was paralyzed and couldn't move.
Carter laid me down on his couch. He continuously kissed me. I couldn't do anything back. He was kissing a mannequin, a doll, a puppet.
I felt his hand slide up my leg. I assumed he wanted it between my legs soon.
His lips kept attaching then detaching itself to my lips. I felt his hand's warmth on my thigh.
I sat up in attempt for him to stop. Everything moved so quickly, I had no idea how I got feeling again. I didn't say anything, I just shook my head and my hand went along with it.
"Aww, babe. It's okay if you don't wanna go that far, that's fine," he said in response. "Look, I respect you, okay?" he said with a smile.
He sat back on his side of the couch again. Of course I had to go with him. I mean, not of course. It just felt like I had to. Because he kissed me. Wait a second.
It just hit me.
That was my first kiss. My first kiss was manipulated with no feeling, I didn't even approve of it.
There sat the boy, Carter, who stole my first kiss with no permission.
