↻About 15 years before the story↺
Not even that long ago, all the Elementals were able to live together, in one kingdom. That one kingdom was titled Wafeia. This kingdom was ruled by one family, this entire family could control all elements. This family was the Elementa family. They were respected, and only slightly feared.
But one day, some spoiled Fire-Controllers (Firens) decided that they wanted to rule over all. Any Firen who said otherwise was slaughtered, so only the power-hungry Firens remained. One bad apple spoils the bunch, no?
The Firens rose up and killed all the Elementa family.
That was as far as they got in their plan to rule. All the Firen families wanted to rule.
One of the Earth-Controllers(Earthens) decided on a way. Every one of the Element-controlling people would live in separate kingdoms. All the Firens in one, all the Earthens in another, Waterns in one, and Airins in the final.
All the groups except Fire decided on yes. Three overrules one, so it was set. All Elementals split across the land. If a mother controlled one element, and the children one, and husband another, the family was torn apart. The children would've been orphaned or adopted by a family that controlled their element.

But all the others show in all but the most dire of situations, including the new Queen of Air.
During this meeting, the Royals are all sworn to peace. Breaking this peace could easily end in a war...
