BEGIN AGAIN (Everything Has Changed Pt. 2)

It's been three months.

Three months of staying on the phone until we fall asleep. Three months of Jollibee "dates", movie marathons, and of waking up to "good morning, bae" texts and I could not be happier.

"That jacket, tho." Alyssa said as I took my seat in front of her in our cafeteria table. "Wala na akong ibang jacket, eh." I told Alyssa. "Wala? What about yung mga jacket na binibili niyo ni Jessey sa Uniqlo?! Andami nun, ah! Tsaka may team jacket ka rin naman, eh!"

Instead of answering Aly, I rested my head on the table. Nako, Lord. Nasaan na ba yung iba naming friends? Nagigisa ako ni Aly dito e.

"BABY BESH!" Bigla namang sumigaw si Alyssa. My head shot up and my eyes immediately searched for Bea.

She said something to her friends and she immediately went to us.

"Ah, kaya pala sayo yung suot ni Mikang." Alyssa said habang nakipagbeso siya kay Bea.

Yup. Bea was wearing my jacket.

-flashback-

"Wait ka lang here, ah. I'll get our food." Sabi ko kay Bea as I went outside my room. I started preparing a lot of food since there's no hiding the fact that Bea and I eat a lot.

I went back to my room and saw that she was staring at the polaroids stuck to my cabinet.

"You and Ate Ara were really cute." Sabi niya and I scoffed. "Wala na yan. Tara. Movie na tayo." I sat on the floor waiting for her to sit beside me.

When she did, I turned to her and saw that she was wearing my team jacket and holding my instax camera in one hand.

"What?" She asked me. "Why are you wearing my jacket?" I asked back. "Eh, you haven't returned mine, eh."

"Fine."

Sus, Mika. Fine daw pero kilig na kilig ka naman deep inside.

"And, let' take a picture!" She said excitedly as she extended her hand with the camera in front of us.

"Eh! Wag! Pangit ako!" I shoved my head on her shoulder, facing away from the camera. "Dali na! I'm jealous, puro si Ate Ara and sila Ate Ly yung nasa polaroid wall mo. Sila Ej nga din andun, eh! How about me? Aka your new best friend?!"

I rolled my eyes before facing my head towards the camera while still leaning on her shoulder. I smiled and immediately she took the picture.

I pressed play on the movie while she waited for the picture to show. And when she did, she spoke up "we look like girlfriends. Oh tape mo na."

I looked at the picture and yep maybe we did look like we were together.

Maybe someday.

"Bae won't return mine, eh!" I was about to defend myself when she suddenly sat down on my lap.

Hinga, Mika, hinga.

And of course, that's when the rest of our barkada decided to show up.

"Wow, talagang dito sa canteen?" Kim asked as she took the seat next to Alyssa.
"Oo nga, bf! And ano na ba kayo?"

Linakihan ko ng mata si Jessey. Yup. In those three months we always defined ourselves as best friends. I know na we're sweet and all but syempre ayoko muna umamin since the break up with Ara still felt fresh and admittedly, it was scarring.

"Best friends, Ate Jessey! Agawin ko na siya sayo."

A chorus of "asus, best friends daw" erupted from our table. "Alis ka na nga!" I playfully said and she got off my lap. "See you later?" She asked and I nodded.
