✧Jessie's POV✧
*Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear Jessie, happy birthday to youuuuuuuuu*
I smiled as I listened how my friends sang this to me in the cafeteria. We were with a group of six. My best friend, Victoria Brown (aka Tori), Linda Jones, Thomas Gallagher, Naomi Redding and Mitchell Baker.
Tori ran towards me with a cupcake with one single candle. "Come on, make a wish!" she said. I laughed as I blew out the candle. "Well? What'd you wish for?" Thomas, asked. "Can't tell, it won't come true if I tell you" I answered as I made a funny face.
The bell rang and we all grabbed our stuff to go to our next lesson, maths... great.

Okay, so maybe this is a good time to tell you something more about me and my life. I'm Jessica Henning, I'm 17 years old and I was adopted. My parents told me when I was 12 and to be honest, I haven't stopped looking for my biological parents ever since. My older, also adopted brother, is two years older than me, but he only came into our parents' lives a year before i did. Ronald and I are pretty close. We do everything together. We go shopping, we watch Netflix, we talk guystuff, we have so much fun! Anyways, our adoptive parents are pretty rich... I go to a private school and all. Everyone at school is like top class, but even in our school you have the popular peeps and the nerds and all that. This is going to sound so freaking selfish, but I'm one of the popular. We have a few groups of popular peeps. Tori and me are in one of the two biggest groups. The other group is like our rival. It consists of James Silvester , Robin Mercury, Penelope Fabray, Brittany Pierce and worst of all Tristan Reed... He is SO ANNOYING. My best friend, Tori used to be one of the nerds, people bullied her. I got mad and told everyone to leave the poor girl alone. I once saw Tristan walk towards her, but I stopped him. I kind of made Tori part of our group, by hanging out with her all the time.

After maths we were off and I walked outside to wait for Ron, to pick me up. It was raining pretty bad, so I decided to wait inside. After fifteen minutes, I started to worry. I decided to call him.
He told me that he totally forgot to pick me up, for his boyfriend had surprised him with lunch and they were still at his place. I laughed, he was superduper in love with Mike. "I'll come to pick you up right away!" he said. "No, don't" I answered, grinning. "You go have fun with Mike, I'll be fine."
"Really?"
"Yeah, really! Go, have fun and say hi to Mike for me, will you?"
" Awh, thanks Jes! I love you, byeee"
"Love you too, byebye!"
I laughed once more and started walking. I didn't bring an umbrella, since Ron was supposed to pick me up, but I didn't really mind.
After walking for about ten minutes a car that drove by suddenly stopped. The window opened and someone called out to me. I stopped walking and watched who it was. Oh no....
"Well, are you gonna get in or what?" I looked at the most popular and also most annoying guy of the school...
"Reed, what the hell? Since when do you even talk to me?"
"Since you're soaking wet - don't look at me like that, that's not what I meant- and I have a car."
"And why would I want your help?"
"Well, I know where you live, Robin is your neighbour, remember? Anyways, if you don't want to walk for another hour, I'd get in."
"No" I started walking again. Tristan started his engine again, but he didn't drive faster than i walked.
"Come on, Henning. Get in."
"You're not gonna leave me alone, are you?" I sighed.
"Nope!" he answered with a smirk.
I sigh again. "Fine..."

✧Tristan's POV✧
I looked to my right. Jessica Henning... Soaking wet in my Lamborghini. I smirked and looked back at the road. I drove her to her place and stopped.
"There you go madam, that'll be $38,50 please." I joked. I saw her rolling her eyes at me as she got out.
"What, not even a thank you?" I smirked.
"Thanks" she sighed.
" No problem" I answered. She started to walk away, but I called her back.
"What?" she asked irritated.
"I just wanted to wish you a happy birthday" I smiled. I saw her confusion when she thanked me.
"I heard everyone sing you a birthday song" I tried telling her, though I don't know if she heard that last part, since she was walking towards her door again. I waited until she was inside and then I left.

This might be a good time to tell you something about me. My name is Tristan Reed. Reed is not my real name, because I just found out that I was adopted. My (adoptive) parents don't know that I found out, but they don't have to know. I have no intention of finding my biological parents. I have no brothers or sisters. I do have a dog, Milow. Two years ago, my parents and I were on holiday. We were on our way to a little village, when I saw this puppy all alone at the side of the road. I told our driver to pull over and that's when I met Milow. I washed him and we went to the veterinarian to make sure he was healthy. After that I took him home and he has been living with me ever since.

As I opened the door to the kitchen, I heard my parents fight. Probably over me. I made myself some eggs and poured a glass of Coke, then I went upstairs to my room. After I finished eating, I grabbed my laptop and I opened Netflix. I'd just started watching when my phone rang. It's Robin.
"Hey, sup" I said after I picked up.
"Dude, what's with you and that Henning girl?" He asked.
"Nothing, she was walking home, all alone in the rain. I was just being nice." I answered.
"Sure you were" he said mockingly. What was that about?
"Yeah, I was" I responded unsure.
"You're never just being nice, especially to pretty girls like Jessica"
"That's bullshit" I responded right before I hung up the phone.
He is unbelievable... Why can't I just bring Jessica home? That's just nice. Right?
