Chapter I: The God's Mission

Fifty Years Later...

Another pointless, dreamless sleep. Another damn morning, another damn day of life. Claudia King, rolls over in her bed, and looks at the alarm clock. It was four in the morning, time to make coffee. She gets out of bed wearing a satin pink shirt and matching shorts. Walking into the kitchen, she starts to prepare breakfast. Her pale white skin matched her beautiful black hair which went down her waist. Her eyes were an auburn color now; these things that the mortals called contacts were amazing. She poured the water into the coffee machine and set the timer. Her coffee would be ready within the hour; she sighed and went into the living room. Flicking on one of lights, she heard a voice.

"It's been fifty years of you running Claudia. I have returned" stated the voice she never excepted to hear for another nine hundred and fifty years. She quickly turned around and scanned the apartment for the source of the voice. It sounded like it came from her kitchen, but that made no sense. She just left the kitchen.

"Show yourself Zarai! I don't have time for your nonsense." She shouts into the dimly lit room. No voice replies, the entire house is silent. Any type of moment, sound would be heard. She had improved her use of her five senses she was discovered she would bear the curse of immortality for the next thousand years. She gets into a defensive position and draws her pistol, a magnum colt. An ancient pistol from the days of cowboys versus the Indians. A classic gun from the 1800's. It was Claudia's first gun, or it was her first gun she learned to use. She grew up in a time where women were not independent and owning a handgun could land her being hanged. It was her father's gun and had now used it twice as much as he ever dreamed of using it.

"Zarai, this isn't the time for games! Reveal yourself to me!" she shouts into the empty apartment. Yet again, no reply. She sighed; she didn't have time for this. Closing her eyes and concentrating from a moment, she remembered the spell that the Warlock in Egypt taught her fifteen years ago.

She chants the charm to reveal any hidden figures within the apartment.

"S'dies Saven!" she whispers, the room glows a bit as her tattoo of a beautifully designed cross starts to glow. The electricity in the house goes out for a moment, resetting the clocks and blowing out two lights. She cursed, her spell revealed nothing. Zarai wasn't here, or at least he wasn't using magic to hide himself.

"You dare use your petty magic on me Claudia?" questions the spirit. Zarai wasn't here; it was the spirit that bonded with Zarai fifty years ago. She drops her gun and starts to cast enchantment wards to protect her mind and body from the spirit.

"Ancient God - why do you visit me? I suffer from your curse, why taunt me?" she asks, her voice is full of fear. She grips her tattoo, her finger nails drawing into her skin causing her skin to break and bleed. She bites her tongue, ignoring the pain.

Suddenly, the power goes out again and a faint orange glow reveals Zarai, now wearing a white suit, a highly attracted and handsome man.

"You have changed" she mutters, noting his experience. Zarai laughs a deeper dark laugh, smiling at her.

"Zarai has not been in control since you left. You were his inspiration for this and when you left him, he left that and surrendered his body to me. I been enjoying it." He states, smiling at her.

"Ancient God - what do you want from me?" she asks, still gripping her tattoo.

"There is an assembly tonight at sacred tree. I want you to accompany me, the Gods are fighting again. The Elders, the young gods and even the Gods that cannot remember their names will be attending tonight. There will be a war and you will be a vital part in this planet's destruction...or its redemption." States the ancient God. He reaches his hand and grabs her hand gripping the tattoo. She doesn't resist. She already realized that she was overpowered and angering a God had terrible consequences, especially those who were immortal to disease and time. He touches her tattoo and in a matter of moments she awoke in a bedroom that wasn't her. She was in pajamas and an elegant short pink dress laid on the chair near her. She stood up and sighed, she was somewhere in the God's world. Grabbing the dress, she quickly changed and tapped her tattoo quickly saying a summoning spell.

Zarai appeared in front of her in moments before the spell was complete.

"Do not use your magic here! You are my guest and summoning more mortals here will not only drain all your energy and pass your body onto the Void, it will cause me issues. Only use your magic if necessary. Remember most of these Gods used to be powerful magicians and the Gods of Magic are here tonight. Most of them had their powers revoked when the Elders put most of the younger Gods to trial for crimes against humanity." He says. Xarai wore a green suit now, mint green and he had grown a long beard. He appeared poor, his hair was a mess, his suit was stained with blood.

"What happen to that nice white suit and your shaved self?" she asked, chuckling quietly. She was examining the room, making notes of possible escape routes.

"I am a God, when I am home, I prefer to look casual." He says laughing. He studies her moments and shakes his head.

"You cannot escape my castle; it will always been changing, even as we speak, when we open this door, it could lead to my basement or possibly my garage. There are no windows nor is there anyone else within the castle. Without me, you will get lost and die." He states. She looked beautiful; she could pass for one of the younger Gods at the assembly.

"The meeting starts in an hour are you ready?" he asks, opening the door, beckoning for her to follow.

The two walked throughout the grand city of the God, she looked around and looked for a name, and she couldn't find any obvious landmarks. The city was large and full of parks and nature. Every few hundred yards, another lesser God's house would be on a hill or viewable.

"The assembly will be held there, I will meet you at the top of the hill." Stated the God as they approached the largest hill in the city. She cursed him and was half-attempted to use her magic here, but she sighed. Within the hour, she made it to the top of the hill. The God was laughing at her.

"You missed the cookies and pie, the meeting hasn't started yet. Were waiting for Joki to make an appearance. She promised to attend this meeting. Joki is the God of Death Magic, also known as Necromancy. She's a decent person, despite the fact she is the Mother of Necromancy." He says, noting the concern in her eyes.

"Come on, let's go in..." he says, taking her arm and escorting her into the assembly of the Gods.
