I wake to cold air touching my face. Nothing but darkness all around. My hands glide over the ground in which I lay upon and feel nothing but stone and as my hands lie on the stone a cold liquid falls on them. The scent of blood in the air brings my fears to life. I stand with the little energy I have and grab the wall next to me. My feet now engulfed in blood I begin to run into the darkness not knowing where I am going. My eyes barely adjusting to this darkness but just enough to where I could see nothing but blood and stone. My breathing quickens.

Ticking begins to be heard all around. Nothing, nothing but ticking. It is driving me insane. Quickening my pace. I run down a darkened hallway to my left. Sounds of splashing underneath my feet echo through the cold air. The ticking only grow louder and louder. Why can't I make it stop? I want it to stop! I run faster and faster into nothing. The scent of blood stained my nose. I glide my hands across these walls to guide me through this darkness. Louder and louder the ticking grows.

I put my hands to my ears and yell for it to stop! The sound grows louder and louder as I fall to the stone ground. Blood surrounds me as stay motionless in this hall. Nothing but blood and stone around me. My sanity leaves as my insanity grows.

In that instant a blinding white light appears from an opening in the wall. I make my way to it and enter. Nothing but white all around as the opening closes behind me. I look around this room and notice one thing; a clock. Its hands stay motionless as the ticking grows louder. I walk toward the clock and make bloodied footprints behind me. I stare at the clock, its face to mine.

The ticking suddenly stops as the hands of the clock begin to move. The floor underneath ,me begins to move. The walls start changing. Gears are heard through my head and can be seen behind it all. The clock, however, stays where it was. As the room turns to nothing, the clock disappears. I stand in nothing. Only my thoughts can be heard. I close my eyes and wake to my bedroom ceiling above me, sweat falling from my head and my breathing quick. I calm myself through deep breaths and lay back to sleep and close my eyes...tick.
