It felt real. It was scary. People ran around, screaming. Mothers looking for their children. Fathers and soldiers shooting into the cloud of smoke dead ahead.
Hannah wanted to help, but for some reason, she couldn't move. She tried shouting but it made her head hurt and her throat sore. That's when she saw it.
A 40 foot robot crushing buildings and houses. It's foot stepping on dead bodies lying on the ground. Hannah flinched as she saw the robot blast it's gun at the men. They all were vaporized and she couldn't help or save them.
Screams filled her ears and she saw the remaining people being pushed around by human sized robots. Some had electric whips, some had guns, some had chains. Hannah watched as one of the older girls from her school, Miko, fell over due to the chains attached to her feet and hands.
One of the robots came towards her with a whip in it's hand. Hannah's breathing became rapid and unsteady as she watched the robot raise the whip and connected it with Miko's back.
“STOP!!” She was able to say then gasped when she realized she was talking. The robot looked at her and started walking towards her.
A chain was wrapped around her neck and began tightening. Hannah couldn't breath at all. It was like being underwater, breathing the water and it would fill your lungs.
“Hannah!!” Hannah could hear Miko calling her but she couldn't get to her.
“Hannah!!”
“Miko...”
“HANNAH ESQUIVEL!!”
Hannah shot up in her seat and saw Miko looking at her with an eyebrow raised.
“Hey, what happened to you??” Miko asked as Hannah looked away, afraid to look at Miko and see the horrified face she had in the dream.
“Nothing. Just a bad dream.” She said as Miko shrugged.
“Okay. Well, see you later.” Miko said as she walked off towards the school entrance.
“Ms. Esquivel??” Hannah was stopped by her teacher, Mr. Pax. She looked at him as he gestured for her to sit down.
“Is everything okay??” He asked as Hannah shook her head.
“Want to talk about it??” He asked as Hannah looked away for a second. She started thinking about what to say. She wants someone to know that she can hardly sleep at night because of these weird dreams but doesn't want to come off crazy or delusional.
“Yes.” She said as the two of them started talking.
