Bethany stared out the window of her car as she drove past countless berry fields. This drive seemed to go on forever, or maybe it was just because Bethany was so anxious to get to her destination.
Her family inherited a deed from Bethany's late grandfather. It was a deed do his mansion.
Bethany never really had a relationship with her grandfather. She only saw him during Christmas and Easter. He always looked so tired, and so worried about something. Come to think of it, she never even spoke to him once.
Bethany scratched her leg, her dirty clothes rubbing her skin was causing a terrible rash. She licked her hand and rubbed the irritated area. For some reason that always seemed to make it feel better. Hopefully this mansion would be her ticket for nicer clothes.
She longed for poofy dresses and elegant bows and fancy hair styles. She hoped that she would get all she ever wanted.
The skies were dark and gray, the clouds never letting a ray of sunshine break through. Bethany let out an exasperated sigh. She had no perception of time anymore, and she forgot how long she had been in the car for.
Being an only child, Bethany never had anyone to talk to. Her parents were always so stressed out from their monotonous jobs. Bethany thought being in the FBI would be a fun job, with lots of action and crime fighting, but it's not like that. That's just how disappointing life was. Instead of getting to go on missions and the like, her parents were on their computers all the time, making phone calls and never paying any attention to their daughter. She hoped that their move to the mansion would fix all that, but the young 15 year old girl had already learned not to get her hopes up. She learned to just, not care anymore. But all this waiting, was really giving her anxiety.
