"Cheen! Can you please hurry up?!"
"Ito na nga, ma!"
"I told you do not call me Ma when we're working"
"But I told you you're my Mom"
"I know and at times like this I wish I'm not. Now hand me the comset" which she pertains to the communications set, mainly used by event organizers to communicate during the event. Mobile phones are strictly prohibited, especially in these kinds of concerts. We must stay private.
I hissed. I have no choice. I handed her her comset and secured mine.
"Okay guys," yelled the Boss who everyone calls "Inang". She summoned everyone for the last prayer.
"This is the last leg of the trilogy. Let's make this unforgettable"
She held her hand in front of the production team with the backup and main artists.
"Aye! Aye! Aye! Aye! Aye!" cheered everyone after praying.
"God bless us" Inang ended.
I've been doing this for 5 years, and I'm loving it. I love events. I've done this since college and this is the career path I chose to take.
But my profession falls under corporate events. I plan and organize exhibits, symposiums, meetings, and even international tours for corporate accounts.
And here I am, stuck in helping my Mom do her job. Come to think of it I think I got my passion for events from her.
Wala naman akong reklamo sa ginagawa kong 'to. Ang gulo, sobra. I mean ng audience. Hindi naman sa nangba-bash ako, I'm just trying to describe the crowd.
Magulo and maingay naman talaga but that's the fun part of concerts, right?"It's starting" I heard my Mom whispered to herself while the first VCR is playing on the LED.
Nandito ako sa likod nya at tinitignan yung stage on top of us, naka-elevate kasi yung giant stage nila, sobrang bongga.
"Kinakabahan ako na excited" I thought out loud.
My mom held my hand. "Me too", she said. She always has this look in her eyes, they shine the brightest whenever an event is running.
She suddenly looked at me and yelled "Cheen I said go to your side!"
Akala ko, sweet na eh. -.-
"Ito na, ito na!"
"Nakong bata ka hindi ka nakikinig sakin!"
"Here I go!" I walked backwards while laughing at my Mom when I bumped into someone.
"Oh!" we both exclaimed.
"I'm sorry! Oh my God I'm sorry!"
It's one of the boys!
"It's okay. I'm sorry" He insisted to get his microphone which fell on the floor. I bumped into him while walking backwards.
Always the clumsy me.
"I'm sorry, Chim"
He looked at me and flashed a smile "Please help?" he asked me to fix his lapel.
"Oh, yes of course"
I have seen these boys for I don't know, I lost count.
And I like them, but I cannot say I'm in love with them, maybe I've been a fan of all things Korean for the longest time I learned how to control my feelings and I'm in love with a Korean actor, I like older men. lol.
Well I'd be kidding myself and the rest of you if I deny that I get these weird butterflies tumbling around my stomach whenever I see them. They’re nice boys. All they do is smile and bow down to greet every person they see.
I see them, yes. But I do not actually get to talk to them.As we all know only one of them speaks English well, but from what I've heard these boys are learning a lot these days because of the international fame they get.
"There" I told him. I went in front of him and helped him fix his shirt and coat. Lagot ako sa stylist nito pag nagulo damit nito!
"Thank you, Cheena" I looked at him and there he is again. His smile is as wide as the road while his eyes vanished. His accent makes him cuter.
"Y-you know me?" I asked him, stuttering.
He's still smiling. He doesn't stop from smiling!
"Jimin!" Their PD shouted. "Come here!" he sprinted towards the stairs.
"They speak English?" I asked myself and went to my post.I can hear the fans crying while yelling and cheering for these 7 boys, and waving their lighsticks. I feel like I'm crying myself.
I saw how these 7 boys worked hard to be where they are right now. It's literally "started from the bottom now we're here" and they deserve it.
They deserve more.
I've been working for my mom part-time whenever I am available, and I make myself available for the International concerts her company handles. Perks!
So maybe now you've figured that I saw these boys from their first concert up to now. Haha from their chains and badges to these classy coats they wear, from their foreheads to their pastel colored hair.
After 3 hours of non-stop running underneath the stage, the boys are singing their fan song.
How sweet these groups are to make songs for their fans.
I heard their leader one time saying "They are not just fans. They are our source of strength, the reason why we are here"
"And ARMY are my girlfriends" said the maknae afterwards.
They wrapped up the concert by bowing to the crowd and to us, the crew."CONGRATULATIONS!" Their CEO congratulated them and my Mom and the rest of the event crew before heading out to his early flight.
"Will the boys stay?"
"Yes, I let them take a rest for 2 days. They will leave on Tuesday"
MY EYES WIDENED.THE OTHER CREW GIGGLED.
I guess if phones were allowed, they'd be telling their friends about it already.
"Okay" my Mom, keeping her cool in front of the CEO. Ang hirap kaya magpigil ng kilig! Hello?! BTS for 2 more days?!
"Karen, call the hotel and extend our stay" she told her secretary.
I heard the girls' holding back from screaming. "Just for 6 rooms"
"Awwwwww" I heard them. LOL That means the boys have 4 rooms, one for their crew and one room for me, my twin brothers and my Mom because Dad will be out for an event in Cebu.We never had the chance to stay with these boys after their concerts. For their past 2 concerts, they always go straight to the airport to go back to Seoul.
But this time, it’s different.
"Again, congratulations everyone. Excellent job!"
Everyone cheered once again. I sat on the nearest sofa. I can still hear my Mom's loud voice talking to the boys, or their leader, rather.
"You've done a fantastic job. Get yourselves some rest. I will treat you tomorrow"
"Thank you, Inang" I cannot help myself but to laugh a little because even them call her Inang. That's so cute.
"Hey" I was about to close my eyes because I'm tired when someone sat beside me.I felt his face near mine.
I opened my eyes and blinked. And blinked. And blinked.
This Mochi's smile is once again flashing in front of me.
"Thank you" he said before standing up. I heard their leader as well calling him.
I saw an energy drink beside me with a note.
"Thank you, Cheen. I'm happy I finally get to talk to you"
