Emptiness. That was all he could feel as his vines sliced through the unsuspecting Froggit nearby, dusting it instantly. He set his eyes on another, croaking and paralyzed with fear as it witnessed its companion die. A round of pellets later, it too was nothing more than a distant memory. The two innocent monsters were just the latest victims of the flower's bitter frustration as to how he could still feel nothing.
It's not like he didn't try or anything. This was what, the hundredth reset now? He had been 'nice' to these idiots for the first few, but that got very boring. Tiring. Predictable.
First was Toriel. Probably one of the more duller monsters. Nothing much to say, other than how tiring and boring she was. He had gone to her after Asgore in a futile attempt to retrieve his lost emotions. Needless to say, it didn't work. How could she help anyway? She probably cared more about all those other human children she was attempting to keep safe. "Even though I was her son first." he thought bitterly. Well not anymore.
.......
Next was the comedian. Ah yes, the smiley trashbag, Sans. He'd certainly caused a fair share of resets. Nothing but trouble, that one. Oh, but there was something funny about him. He never remembered the resets, but he always seemed to know more than he let on. Numerous resets were used to pry and find out his secrets, but to no avail. ...Whatever. The effort spent on collecting information was worth about just as much as he was.
Papyrus, the comedian's brother and his favorite toy. He was just so naive, so...malleable. It was so much fun to bend, to break, to crush him until he or everyone around him was nothing but powdery, worthless dust. Although...he had put the most effort in befriending him, which was at least somewhat impressive. They were the ones who probably knew most about each other, funnily enough.
Undyne. Crazy fish lady that never seemed to stop screaming. Not much to say, as he never really bothered to befriend her. She did try cooking him once though, during one of those messed up 'cooking' lessons she had with Papyrus. That was something, to say the least.
Alphys. Anime freak, and the one who brought him back to life--if one could even considering his situation as living. As far as he was concerned, she had done nothing but bring him suffering that he didn't have to face in the first place. But otherwise, she was relatively harmless, and stayed out of the way most times.
Then came Asgore. Though he was a gullible old fool who was too kind for his own good, he still stood his ground on not giving him the captive human souls. Normally, violence, along with the power of reseting was able to best any idiot standing in his way, but Asgore was simply unbeatable. He was the only one who utilized orange attacks, and Flowey couldn't get him to reveal his techniques no matter what. Bribery, threats, even begging....nothing worked. In the end he just gave up. It was just impossible. No point in trying.
The genocide runs were a little better. They were entertaining for a while, especially when he got past that trashbag skeleton. He smiled at the memory. Oh, how satisfying it was when he finally delivered the endimg blow after so much hassle. He kept dodging and dodging, but like all the others, he too became predictable and eventually got careless. One slip was all that was needed.
Other than Sans and a little trouble from Undyne (well Asgore too but he didn't count...) no one could really stand in the way. Until they came.
He couldn't really tell at first. They were the first live human they had seen in a while. At first, they just did what he himself had already did, namely going through the underground and befriending some, killing others. They changed slowly, eventually killing fewer and fewer until...
They had befriended everyone is the underground. He had remembered being defeated, becoming Asriel, being comforted by them. Everyone was going to go to the surface, to enjoy a new life. That was what they all thought anyway. As soon as they stepped past where the barrier was, the world reset.
Then it happened. Again and again. Pacifistic, but never past the barrier. Until one day...
It all stopped. He didn't even notice, thinking that they were just late to fall. Then he waited. And waited.
But nobody came.
He'd even killed himself to make sure. But the truth was that they were gone. Chara, Frisk, whoever they were, had disappeared. Huge shame too, they were really fun to play with, despite how seemingly pacifistic they were.
Whatever. They were gone now, but he was sure they'd be back. But now that he had had control over the timeline for however long he had, it was time to have some fun. Grinning maliciously, he slammed his vines down on the RESET button.
"Prepare yourselves, idiots of the underground. Flowey's back and ready to play."
