Love Is Art
V. Shift
"Someone's creating an army"The conversation at the Cullen house had shifted uncomfortably as the news went from reporting what the president had for breakfast to then reporting on new attacks in Seattle, that caused the family to brim with attention and create speculation.
Emmet slouched back on the couch, his face expressing the usual mix of inquisitiveness and excitement, "Now we're definitely going to Seattle" He stated, the idea of investigating or running into a fight beckoning him.
"An army of vampires?" Bella inquired, despite it being rather obvious that the attacks were due to vampire. However, whether the vampires were nomads or not was an entirely different conversation.
Despite the conversation between his siblings, with the less so desirable presence of Bella, being of great importance. Jasper Hale had lost all interest in their theories. He was on the borderline of vexation and apathy. His fists were continuously clenching and relaxing as he tried to settle the horrible foreboding feeling in his body. He was well aware of his outward appearance and was grateful that his siblings had managed to keep their mouths shut about it, that was until Alice stepped a little closer towards him.
"Jasper?", She whispered, tugging gently on the sleeves of shirt. He took the sign from her that it was ok to leave the conversation about possible new born attacks, to talk with her somewhere more privately. He didn't mind saying whatever was on his mind around Alice, most the time she had already seen what was bothering him anyway.
"How is it?", She asked, not really needing to define what it was.
"It's gotten worse — I don't know what's happened, but it's her pain I'm feeling"
"You already know what's happening to her, which is why you need to stop getting yourself so worked up, she'll be fine Jasper"
Jasper had recalled a conversation, what seemed not so long ago with Alice, at a time before he even knew exactly who Violet was. She explained the reasons for and why he was able to feel Violets pain on a much more amplified level then any other person.
"I should go over there", He stated instantly rushing to the door, but was not quick enough for Alice as she successfully intercepted him in the doorway.
"Now you are being silly Jasper Whitlock — she'll be just fine, trust my vision?"
His eyes flickered from the inviting view of the forest outside, to the eyes of Alice who seemed to be begging for his trust. He settled for accepting the latter and walked away from the door to crash back down on the couch, practically hovering on the edge of the seat. He silently fumed to himself for a short moment, before he caught Alice looking at him from the corner of his eyes, "You're doing it again Alice", he stated, as the smile on her face continued to widen.
