It was just like any other day.
For every villain there shall be heroes, and these two were the perfect pair. She has the power of creation, he was the power of destruction, ladybugs are good luck, black cats are bad luck. Just perfect.
"So, what's the deal with this guy?"
"He can shapeshift into anyone he touches, and so far it has been pretty CATastrophic"
Ladybug laughed. She had finally laughed at one of Chat's lame puns, he noticed and found it weird yet amusing. Her conversation with Tikkie had changed the way she looked at Chat, she was growing fond of him.
"Oh no, he's headed to that bakery" - Ladybug pointed
"We can't let him destroy the place with the best croissants in all of Paris"
"We won't"
They got there fast, very fast, always keeping eye on the track of horrified people that Clay left behind. What Chat didn't know was that this Clay had 'bad blood' with the daughter of the bakery owners.
"He's headed upstairs" - Chat pointed out
"Oh no, please, our daughter is in her room"
Ladybug started to sweat, she was supposed to be home, she had to think fast
"I... Ah... I'll go there and try to get his Akuma, but, if something goes wrong his only way to leave is, to come downstairs, so I'll need you to be here"
"Ah? Are you sure you don't want me to go help you?"
"No, I'll be fine" - It was always a bit harder for her to fight without her partner, but it would be harder to explain the situation to him
"If you say so"
"Ladybug, please, be careful with our baby" - her dad shouted as she went upstairs
Ladybug walked into a very confused Clay
"C'mon Marinette, I know you're here somewhere, your parents wouldn't lie to your best friend"
"So that's how he got in" - Ladybug said to herself trying to go unnoticed
"Looking for something?"
And with the element of surprise, Ladybug was then easily able to capture his Akuma.
"MIRACULOUS LADYBUG" - she chanted, everything went back to normal
"What am I doing here?" - Clay said even more confused going down the stairs, Ladybug had already hidden so she could go back to Marinette, it was her room after all, she knew all the good hiding spots
"Did you do anything to our daughter? I will-"
"I don't even know where she is" - Clay interrupted Marinette's dad, he is a very protective man that was very angry
After those words, her parents and partner went upstairs to try and find Marinette
"There you are my love" - her parents hugged her as she stood in the middle of her room with a shocked expression
Chat looked at the sight of a safe Marinette and couldn't help but smile.
When he saw Clay move to the building his priority was the girl, but he couldn't just ask for her, for all Ladybug knew, Chat didn't know her that personally
"But where's Ladybug?" - the mom asked
"Oh she hum... Went away... To do... Superhero stuff..." - she smiled trying to hide her nerves
"So, everyone is safe, my job here is done"
"Actually Chat, can you stay here for a little while? We wanna make sure that weirdo doesn't come after our babygirl again" - Marinette's dad asked
"Hum... Sure"
"Thank you so much" - the mom said
"Sweetie, if you need anything we'll be downstairs"
"Thanks papa" - and the three hugged again
