It was April 9 Of 3014 in San Fransicso, California and Haylee O'Neal was walking home from school with her best friend Aidan Alexander. Haylee was 13 and Aidan was 14. Aidan was always 1 month older than Haylee. Aidan lived a block away from Haylee so every time they walked home together Aidan got home first. Haylee dropped Aidan off and started to walk home. Before she could walk up the steps to her house something caught her eye. Haylee knew she had to get home because she was already running late but she had to find out what it was. So she slowly walked up to the sparkling thing in the grass. When she picked it up she was amazed. It was a very old bottle with the year 2014 on it. She looked inside of it and found a piece of paper. She was so excited to read it. Haylee ran up the steps and got dressed did half of her homework and ran to get Aidan. She told him about the bottle she found. He was skeptical about it. But he went along with it anyway. They went to the park and read the piece of paper. To their surprise it was a map. It was pretty old and labeled "The Land Of Odd". They never seen something so old so they went to ever landmark. First came the beach where they found a key. Then the carnival where they found a bag of some type of liquid. Then the museum where they found a tiny door. Haylee laughed she looked at Aidan and said " Great Joke, Alice In Wonderland Really ? " Aidan said "This wasn't me, anyway where was I going to find a tiny door." They decided to just open the door. But there wasn't magical house or anything. It was just a dark forest. They wondered how they were supposed to get in there. But Aidan noticed a little bit of writing on the back that said "Boire la potion de trouver une terre de merveilles". Aidan had been practicing French so he grabbed the paper and read it to Haylee. "Drink the potion to find a land of wonders" They looked at the bag and shared the potion at first nothing happened then got all tingly and shrunk. They went into the door and found another bag. Aidan said that it must be what was going to change them back. The forest was VACANT. There wasn't any Animals, People, Or Plants. They walked through the vacant forest to find a letter at the end of the road. Haylee picked it up, sat on the dusty road, and read it aloud. It said " Nathan O'Neal October 27, 3010

Aidan looked at Haylee with fear in his eyes and said "Haylee we should leave now."Haylee was scared herself so they went for the door before they could someone ran out from the far fields. They looked at him and said "You must be Nathan." He said " Yes, Please open the door quickly and get out of here." Haylee opened the door and ran out and slammed the door. They drunk the other potion and grew back to their normal size. Haylee, Aidan, and Nathan ran home. Before they left Haylee asked Nathan if he remembered where he lived. He said Yea but to Haylee surprise he walked all the way to her house. She told him that she lived there and has lived there for 18 years. But when her mom walked outside she ran up to Nathan and shed into tears. She hugged, kissed, and screamed out loud. She called Haylee's dad and he ran outside and hugged and kissed Nathan. Haylee looked at them like they were crazy but before she could say something her mom said " Come here Haylee we have to talk to you. " They sat her down on the porch bench and said " Haylee this is Nathan your brother he has been missing for 4 years and we were sure he was dead. You never met him because he disappeared once you woke up from your coma." She couldn't say anything all she did was try to remember the couple days before the coma. Then jumped into Nathan's arms and said " How old are you now ? " He said " 15 and I've been waiting for someone to finally come open that door for me." Aidan came to ask if Nathan got home safely. When he got to the steps he was confused. He asked Haylee what was going on. She explained everything to Aidan. But nothing was ever the same for the O'Neal family. Nathan always woke up in the middle of the night screaming and Haylee was always getting strange rashes. One day Haylee's mom woke up to Nathan screaming, Haylee scratching, and Aidan and his parents knocking on the door scratching. Haylee's mom decided to call the police. They went to the museum and found nothing. Haylee, Nathan, and Aidan were shocked. The police just said " Congrats on finding your son! " Then walked away and ever since that day NOTHING was ever the same for the O'Neals and the Alexander's.
