I burst into the bathroom in 7-Eleven, turning towards the old mirror above a sink that looks as if hasn't been cleaned for at least a year.

My blonde is tangly underneath the hood of my jacket, and my eyes are bloodshot with circles under them. The only appealing thing about my appearance is my bright blue eyes, staring back at me in the mirror.

I look scared, terrified even. I swallow long and hard, still staring at my reflection.

Are you okay Jenna?

No, not really. I answer.

I take a deep breath before exiting the 7-Eleven bathroom, and I start walking towards the counter. A man with shaggy black hair and a mustache looks at me like I'm crazy, but all I do is just point at a pack of cigarettes. He nods and grabs the cigarettes and hands them to me. I smile and dig through the pockets of my jeans until I find a $5 bill to hand him, which he snatches out of my hand and places into the cash register.

I smile once more before running out of the 7-Eleven and towards my dads SUV. I climb into the car and start the engine, the car rumbling loudly.

"Hello?" I say when I reach my house, looking around for a sign of life in the living room.

"Jenna? Is that you?" My mother runs out into the living room, grabbing me and pulling me into a hug.

"Mom,"

"No, you're fine honey. Where were you?" She says still holding me tightly.

"Just around," is all I can say.

"What do you mean around?!" As she says this my father walks into the room, a surprised face washes over him.

He holds a news paper in one hand and a mug of coffee in the other, and his bald head glistens with a shine from the sunlight coming in through the window.

I walk over to him and put the pack of cigarettes in his hand, and say "Thought you might want these."

He stares at me in dis belief, but all I do is nod and walk to my room.

I open the door to my room, being careful to not make as much noise since it's 7 in the morning on a Sunday, and barely anyone is awake.

But as soon as I plop onto my bed, my mom steps inside the room.

"Jenna Black! You answer me right now! Where were you? You've been gone for almost a week now!" Her eyes fill with tears and my gut pinches.

"You don't need to know mom,"

"Yes I do! You're my daughter Jenna!"

"I was doing something important."

"Like what?" My mothers voice his hoarse.

"Running away?"

"Because?"

I sigh. "I don't know."

"Jenna my baby!" She comes running to me and hugs me even more then before.

"Mom please stop hugging me,"

My mother pulls away and looks me in the eyes, giving me a death stare. A chill runs down my body, afraid of what she'll do next.
