Chapter 1:

Hooves

Footsteps grew louder toward me. I started to walk faster. But then I realized, it wasn't footsteps. It was hooves against the hard concrete.

I ran to the nearest shop, in hopes to find a telephone to ring Liam. Or Louis. Or Harry. Anyone.

The shop I went into was a deli store. I made my way to the counter. My converse squeaking against the tiles.

I saw a man around age 40 sitting behind the counter. He was casually reading a book, to be exact, Poems by Edgar Allan Poe.

"Hello sir, may I please use your telephone to call a friend? I need to get home and I don't have a car." I sheepishly asked.

He gave me a weird look. I saw that he had ginger hair and mustache with grey-blue eyes. His hair reminded me of Ed Sheeran.

"Of course you may. But right now, the telephone is not working. Maybe I can drive you home? I am leaving this place soon, so why not," the man offered me.

I smiled. "That would be wonderful. It is rainy and I would hate to walk around in the dark."

The man put on his coat, grabbed his keys, and head out the deli store. I followed close behind him. What if maybe he won't take you home? What if he hurts you? My mind was clouded with thoughts.

I got into the car. The man already had his seatbelt on, ready to drive. I pulled the seatbelt over me and played with my fingers.

"What is your name, lad?" the man asked. I softly said "Niall. Niall Horan."

The man grinned at me. "Nice to meet you Niall. I'm Henry. Henry Dark." I nodded my head and smiled alittle.

Moments later, he asked "So were do you live? I know that you don't live in this town because I've never seen you before. Everyone who lives here knows each other. "

"I live in Wolverhampton. I don't think thats to far from here." I replied. It only took 10 minutes to get here. Sometimes strolling outside your hometown is stupid.

Henry chuckled "No place is far from here. This town is like the center of the world." This, to me was confusing.

"What do you mean, there is no place far from here?" I asked Henry.

Henry chuckled again "You young boy. You don't know? This is Timberland. " he said.

I was still puzzled "Well what about Timberland?"

"It is the center of Earth. The place that is close to every location. This is where the Dark horse lives"
