Great people
This chapter is about the great people in my life, they will include some of my family members and just some random people I've met.The first great person in my life is my grandfather.
My grandpa has worked very hard his whole life even when he was a kid he worked on his father's farm. He's a very tough and often stubborn old man. He's been in my life since I was a baby. He has always said the day I was born he stopped smoking and drinking, it means a lot to me that someone would be willing to do that for me, even if they don't really know me yet. I call my grandpa "papa" and he (mockingly) calls me big man occasionally.
My grandfather is 68 years old and has just retired last year, he really needed it. My grandpa is just getting tired now... getting older... he's had to have surgery done on his knees, and has a pacemaker. For those of you who don't know what a pacemaker is, it's a small machine that is put inside someone's chest to keep their heart beating properly, to keep in on the right "pace". I cried when I heard he was getting it (I was 10) because I thought he was going to die.
My grandpa teases me... A lot, and makes fun of me all the time but I know he's loves me a lot too. But despite all that the thing he says the makes me the maddest is when he says he's going to die soon and he hopes he's taught me enough to survive in this world. I know he doesn't mean really soon but eventually. The next great person in my life is my grandmother.
She has been there for me just as long as any of my other family. She has been there to push me and to tell me to "get my head out of my ass" haha. She was the one who always took me to all the stupid places I wanted to go, and whenever my mom didn't have the money to get me something for school or even clothes, my grandma was there. She has taken care of me for a long time and I'm so glad she never gave up on me.The next great person in my life is my (AWESOME) aunt Jen.
My aunt always took care of me while my mom was at work, she's always been really nice and fun and caring and loving. She's like a second mom to me. I probably saw her more than my actual mom. She was at times my guardian and at others my tormenter, like when I had a loose tooth, she pulled it out herself... after chasing me around the yard that is... but I know she's loves me with all her heart and always will. The next great person in my life is my Dad.
My dad and I have never been really affectionate, we stopped saying "I love you" when I was nine years old. We have always just bonded quietly over time. But I do love my dad, and I think he loves me even though we don't say it. I've learned a lot from my dad including many invaluable skills. The next great person in my life is one of my Best friends Nolin
Nolin has been my best friend since 7th grade. One day I sat next to him on the bus (Didn't know anyone else) and by the time we got to school we had become good friends. He was my first REAL friend, the first person I trusted completely. He is very athletic like myself and enjoys being outside. The next great person in my life is my former pathfinder director, Keelie.
I'll be honest, when I joined pathfinders I was really against it. But after a couple try's I got used to it and started making friends. I honestly think if I hadn't started going to pathfinders I would have fallen into drug abuse, which at my current high school is a bad habit that is easy to get involved in. but Keelie and the other pathfinders helped strengthen my bond with God and kept me on the right path. The next great person in my life is my former teacher, Mr.H
Mr.H had a huge influence on my life. He the first teacher that was actually my friend instead of just being a teacher. But he wasn't just like this with me, he was like this with all of his students. Everyone loves him and for good reason. He takes time out of his day to make sure all of his students get the help they need to succeed in his class and others. He'll ask how you're doing occasionally and if you're not doing so good he'll try to cheer you up or ask how he can help. He's by far one of the nicest and most caring teachers I have ever met.The next great person in my life is my Mom.
My mom has been in my life forever, teaching me right from wrong and trying to keep me on the right path, which she has done pretty well. She has given me affection and encouragement when I needed it and discipline when I deserved it. My mom has always been there to watch out for me, and she'll always be there if I need help or advice.
