What was he going to say?

My heart was racing at a surprising speed, looking at the man I've known for most my life. A third of it, at least. I took in a deep breath, trying to not look so nervous. "Yeah, what's up?" I spoke casually, unsure of what vould possibly come next. The following pause made my heart sink to the floor, the silence louder than anything I've heard in my life. "What uh... What time do you usually wake up in the morning? Nine?"
"Yeah, nine. Ten if I don't have anything to do."
"So if I put an alarm, at what time should I set it?"
We simply talking about time for that while, preparing plans for tomorrow. Closing the door, he took a pack of cigarettes out and went to crack open the window and have a quick smoke by it while I got changed. Just shorts and a large t-shirt, nothing too dramatic. Since it was summer, I knew it would get hot at some point. I sat on the bed with my laptop for a while and soon closed it, setting it down on the nightstand as I stared at George for a while. He had sat at the edge of the bed once he was done, faced away from me.

Turning to my knees, I moved closer to him.

My hands went to both shoulders and slid down, snaking my arms around his chest so I could rest my head on his shoulder. I could feel him tense up, but relaxed eventually. Lowering my head, Joji leaned back into my hold and let out a small sigh. "You're cold." He whispered, slowly turning to see me. The other hugged me in return and slowly dropped down to the side, bringing me down with him. So of course, I decided to get comfortable at this point and hold onto him. "You ready to sleep?" He asked, noting my silence. "Hm? Ah, maybe. I'm not sleepy." Our faces were close together, noses barely pressed up against one another. Our eyes were half lidded as he put all his attention towards me. "We're not usually this close."
"I know. Why's that?"
I gently shrugged, not sure how to answer him other than being sarcastic. "Maybe because you decided to live in Australia, for some stupid reason." A laugh stifled from him, smiling now as he shook his head. "I don't need your sass."

Eventually, the both of us passed out for the night.
