Breathing.
Forcing the steps,
up the stairs,
to the stage,
to be taken with a trembling stride.
You hold it in your hands.
Your life,
Your passion,
Your expression,
And this is it.
As you take your seat,
you freeze in the beautiful,
breathtaking,
lonely,
terrifying silence
that envelops you in its arms.
And then all is interrupted
by a single,
blinding,
golden light.
Pointed only at you.
In the moment before you take off,
spread your wings,
and dive into the deep,
wonderful song,
you close your eyes.
Take one last breath of air.
Making your whole body feel like nothing in the world can disrupt you.
And then the explosion sets off.
An explosion that triggers emotion,
sound,
and excitement
that dances in the ears of all who attend the concert hall.
You climb a mountain
that goes high into the sky.
You form a cloud
that showers all
with a flood of notes.
As you pull the bow across the string,
you embrace the power that you hold.
You pour your heart out
expressing what you love.
And the thing that you love is music.
