Beyond the Shadows

Chapter 7

I woke up in a bed dressed in white sweatpants and a white T-shirt.  I looked around and couldn't see anyone.  I suddenly realized were I was.  It was the training hall under my house. 

"The school called, and said ypu got into a fight." I looked up and saw my dad staring down at me smiling.  ye let out a small chuckle and helped name up.  "Up and Adam kid we have to train." I was soon up and fitted to my thermo suit.  The stinging on my neck started growing and I gingerly touched it with the tips of my fingers.

I warmed up with a few basic fundamentals and takedown techniques.  the stinging grew stronger and I ran to the bathroom.  I checked it out in the mirror and touched it softly like before.  I looked and it was 3 diamond marks lined vertically down my neck. They were black now but turned red everytimne I felt pain.  I dug my fingers into my skin and the mark glowed and the skin folded over back to normal like nothing ever happened.

suddenly I hear sirens and my dad rushed into the bathroom and grabbed me out.  "Dad, what's going on"?! I yelled and he just gave me a stern look and uttered one word, "raid" and then told me to grab a sword, poisoned dagger, 3 shurikens, and a pair of nunchuks. 

I hurried over to the weapons rack and grabbed the items and ran to the elevator.  As I went up I could see my dad suiting up in the thermo suit so I guessed I should have done the same.  I grabbed it and slipped it on and uttered the words "activate hard drive".  It responded with a series if beeps and it turned on. I then said "disguise mode" and it turned into a black suit and tie.  well just the look of it, it still felt like a wet suit.  then elevator came to a halt and I reached for the lever that told it to completely stop.  my dad and I stepped out onto the sewer side walk.  it was just wide enough for us to run through while standing up and we had flashlights to navigate our way through the dark. 

As soon as we dropped down the ladder a figure in a black clothing swiftly came at me and sliced at my face with his katana.  I pulled out my poisoned dagger and blocked it and the metal clinked .  I stabbed at his shoulder and threw him unto the wall and knocked him out with my foot. 

"Keep moving Mike" he said and we kept going down the pipes.  three more men popped down the ladder and drawed a sword.  they attacked and my dad stomped on one of their feet and they jumped up and my dad kicked him in the stomach in mid air. 

I flipped the other one over my shoulder and cut the hback of his knees .  He fell instantly to the ground and I kicked his head into the ground.  I picked him up and threw him into the other one.  He punched me in the eye and I winced and broke his nose and broke his neck killing him. My dad finished the other and we continued. 

Suddenly a figure with red eyes and a black draping cloak approached and his wide smile dripped blood.  "Who the fuck are you?" I the yelled.  "That is no human that, is Voluxx.  Voluxx was apparently a supernatural creature from a void that was released by the leader of the Ishinaa.  Apparently we are dealing with more than just damn ninjas!

He swiftly came towards me and struck at my head.  I blocked but atnthe last second he chuckled and struck down at me.  Oh shit!
