"In the murder case of Mr. James Purdy and Mrs.Purdy  we find Jenifer Purdy guilty and sentenced to life in prison."

Eight years ago, I was locked away. Eight years ago, I was thrown away for something I didn't do. Eight years ago, I was at a trial and sentenced to life in prison. Eight years ago, at the age of 17 I was put in prison for murder. Eight years ago, my life completely was snatched from me and thrown away. A matter of seconds and I knew that there was nothing I could do. I have been sentenced to life in prison for murder of my parents.

Here I sit in 2010 present day finally being released from Prison. From a place that I didn't belong. I sat on my bed, staring at the brick white wall in front of me, zoned out in thoughts. I tapped my feet softly on the concrete floor, to no particular beat. I just sat and thought about what/ how would I move on with life when being convicted a murder. Many would ask why I'm being released, but I was wrongly convicted and about 2 weeks ago a witness showed up to the judge and now I have to go through the entire trial. I'm being released for 6 months to figure out the case, if the actual murderer is found, then my charges are dropped and I get my life back. If not, then I'm stuck in the jail cell for the rest of my life.
"Ms.Purdy, please come with me". The guard spoke softly as we stood in the door. I slowly looked up and nodded, half smiling. I stood up slowly and turned around, to feel the cold metal click around my wrist indicating I was put back in the metal cuffs. I was lead out of the cell and up to the front of the jail. I was handed my old clothes and all my other possessions.
"You can go change in that bathroom there." The lady spoke softly to me, motioning to a bathroom. I nodded, walking over to the room to quickly change.
I quickly placed on the black skinny jeans, that were now to big. I then threw on my bra and blouse that felt like a dress on me. I sighed looking in the tiny mirror at my body that just didn't feel normal. These clothes were so large on me. I stared into the mirror that felt like forever, until I heard a knock on the door.
"I know. I know". I sighed, grabbing the light blue jump suit and walking to open the door.
"A little privacy would have been nice". I growled at the large guard in front of me. "Oh how I will miss that uptight attitude". Mark smirked laughing at me. I smiled softly and giggled. "Oh I can tell". I replied back handing him the jumpsuit and following him to the waiting area where I sat in the cold metal chair followed by him.
"Alright kiddo listen, Bri should be here in five minutes. I have had money put up for the day you would have been released. Bri has the money, and you're going to get clothes that actually fit, as well as a phone." Mark spoke to me, his hands on his legs.
"No it is fine. Don't put Bri to that struggle". I tried to speak but Mark cut me off. "No. Kiddo we love you. My entire family does. Let us do this". He spoke again and I sighed showing he had won. He smirked and we both turned our direction to a bright blonde walking over to us, smiling from ear to ear. Mark stood up and walked over to his daughter and I slowly followed behind holding my arm.
Bri was Marks youngest daughter aging 27, he was quite old but a jolly man. I had met him, when I first got in here. His daughter Bri was also in here and we shared a cell until she was released. Since we become close, Mark kind of become a protector or a "father figure".  Bri was about 5'7 , with a curvy body, as well as tan skin. She has bright green eyes, and her blonde hair fell right below her chest. She has perfect straight white teeth that formed a perfect crooked smile.
She turned her attention from her father to me, smiling a bright smile and pulling me into a tight hug. I hesitated before hugging back, but kindly did. She pulled away smiling and looked me up and down before speaking. "You're still very pretty". She smiled at me, before turning to her father. I smiled softly at her compliment, turning my attention over to her dad.
"Alright Bri remember what you all have to get done". Mark said to her. Bri smiled and nodded before saying goodbye to her dad and dragging me out to her white escalade. She quickly got into the drivers seat, as I slowly got into the passenger seat, buckling up as Bri watched me. "So are you ready"? Bri smiled at me, I nodded softly and smiled lightly as she backed out.

"So how do you feel being out for these few minutes?", Bri asked me, as she made a right turn out of the parking lot.
"I guess, I could say it's nice to finally breathe fresh air and see daylight", I smiled, looking over to her as she glanced away from the road to me softly smiling.
"Girlie, let me tell you. I know exactly how you feel. I'm honestly really glad that you're out. I've missed seeing you every single day", Bri said.
I nodded lightly and watched as she made a right turn, onto the highway.
"So where are we going anyways", I asked, looking up into the sky at the airplane that flew above.
Bri clicked her blinker, and then looked over at me quickly smiling. "You see, dad told me to take you shopping for clothing, and if you want, which you really can't say no to a cellphone", she replied to me.
"Phones are just so expensive, I don't want to be a burden on you guys", I said back to Bri,looking over at her face covered in make up. It looked almost as if she had a kind of mask on, she was so extremely pretty but her make up just seemed like a peel off mask.
"Well young lady, you're not a burden on us. My entire family literally loves you. You're getting clothes and a phone, how else will you be able to answer phone calls about jobs?" Bri responded over at me.

I shrugged, "you're right.".
"I know, I usually don't ever seem to be wrong." Bro smiled, causing me to laugh a bit.

We drove down the highway for what seemed like an hour or so, before Bri finally got off an exit. She made a few left, and right turns as we made idle conversation about her life.
"Yeah, so you actually do get to meet my boyfriend I think I'm the next few days". Bri said pulling into a outdoor mall parking lot.
"The guy you've been with since you were 15?" I questioned, looking over at her.
She smiled, as she drove around looking for a parking spot. "Yeah that's him. Matt Nichols". She said smiling as she finally found a spot.
She pulled into the parking spot, turning off her car and unbuckling her seat belt.
"Well Jenifer long and behold your first shopping spree in a long while." Bri smiled at me, as I unlocked the tan, safety belt over my waist.
"Let's do it." I smiled back to her.
