As we got out of the escalade, I slowly shut the door and walked around the back of the car to meet Bri. She locked her car, placing her keys in her purse smiling up to me. "Ready?" She asked rhetorically.
I smiled, as we made our way to the outdoor mall entrance.
"So where would you like to stop at first?" Bri asked as we reached the entrance, and was greeted with ear to ear smiles.
"I honestly don't know. I haven't been shopping in I don't know how long. Wherever you would like to go." I responded back to Bri who smiled hard and grabbed my wrist. She held a firm, but loose grip on my wrist as she walked over to a store called Jessie's. "We are shopping in here first. One because they have super adorable pants, and adorable blouses." Bri smiled opening the glass door.
"That sounds fine. I mean, I guess." I smiled at her, walking in behind her.
The air conditioning hit me instantly making me cool down from the California heat. I sighed, at the cool air on my body. I walked around behind Bri until I noticed an outfit that caught my eye. It assembled of white ripped skinny jeans, a nude cold shoulder top with white lacing on the bottom in floral arrangements, and paired with black strapped high heeled sandals. I walked slowly over to examine the outfit as Bri walked over behind me.
"You like that outfit?" Bri's voice asked behind me.
I nodded and turned smiling, "I really do." I replied.
Bri grabbed my arm again, walking me over to a tan, beige dressing room.
"Stand in here, I will bring you clothes to try on, if you don't like them then set them to the side alright." Bri said staring at me, eyes bright.
I nodded and watched as she pranced away. I turned back towards the little room I was in. In the corner sat a brown stand with red, and white roses in a glass vase. A brown, soft couch sat on the side wall, a full length mirror beside that, directly in front of me. The wooden floor below me, was polished and shiny, almost as if I could see my reflection.
"Knock knock." Bri said opening the door.
I turned around to her and noticed she had a bunch of clothes covering her body.
"How did you manage to carry that much", I giggled.
"Don't even want to talk about it, but let's get started." Bri smiled at me.We tried on the first outfit which were black skinny jeans, with a white Lacey top, that flowed down to my waist, matched with white booties with a heel. I was sold with this outfit.
After about an hour and a half we left the store with 14 pairs of pants, consisting of white, black, maroon, blue jeans, and tan/beige. We got a bunch of tops, consisting of cold shoulders, long sleeve laced shirts, waist shirts and skin tight tops.
"Thank you Miss. Please come back soon." The brunette clerk said smiling as she handed us 5 bags.
"Thank you so much." I replied back and walked with Bri out the door.
"Alright next we are going to Victoria Secret, then to Roses, followed by us going to Starbucks quickly, over to PTt, finishing up with lunch and then to get our nails done." Bri smiled at me, as we walked side by side.
"Alright I guess that sounds fun." I responded to her, smiling brightly at her.
"Good, then we will take you makeup shopping, and to dye your hair. Sounds good", Bri said to me, as I nodded back to her as we walked to Victoria secret.
"So what exactly is this store? I know that sounds dumb, but like." I began to say before Bri smiled at me. "You see girls our age need Bras and Panties so we are going to buy you bra and panties, plus I need to pick up some stuff from PINK." Bri said, opening the door to Victoria secret.
"Alright so lets shop." Bri smiled pulling me over to the bras and panties.I got about 26 pairs of bras and pantie sets. We stopped by PINK and I picked up a few sports bras, leggings, sweats, t shirts, shorts and hoodies. Bri and I also raided the store and bought a bunch of body spray and a few bags.
"I think we may have bought that complete store Bri." I smiled as we carried 18 bags to the escalade and went back for 3 more.
"I think they might either loves us for buying their stuff, and spending so much,or maybe hate us for buying almost their entire store", Bri smiled shutting the trunk of the escalade.
"Where to next?" I asked looking over at Bri.
"Starbucks." She replied simply and off we went.5 hours later.
We finally finished shopping and were getting into the escalade. "Hey Thank you for today."I smiled at Bri as she buckled her seat belt. "Hey it's not a problem in the world."Bri smiled turning on her car, and checking her mirrors. She pulled out her phone and clicked on an app, "hey take a picture with me." She smiled at me, then towards the camera. I simply smiled back and she clicked the picture.
"What even was that?" I asked her, looking out the side window.
"It's an app where you post pictures." She replied simply.
She backed out of the parking spot, and took off out of the parking lot onto the highway. She played the radio as we headed to our next destination.
"So where are we too next?" I asked.
Bri turned on her blinker, then looked at me,"Well, we are going to the house. You're going to stay with us for a while."
I quickly turned my head over towards her and shook my head.
"No." I tried to say before she caught me off.
"Forgot to tell you, you really don't have much of a choice", she said getting off the exit to the highway.
I sighed, and looked over at her. She was extremely focused on the road. Her bright green eyes, reflected even brighter with the sun shinning on them.
"I really do appreciate everything you guys have done for me. I mean, I have enough clothes to last me forever, and shoes lets not even start. Just, from deep within my heart thank you guys so much." I said, holding back a tear from my eye. I honestly and truly meant what I said about being thankful. With out this family, I wouldn't have had anywhere to go.
I felt Bri's hand hover over mine. She gently placed it on top of mine and squeezed it. "You're family", a smile spread across her face. I smiled lightly as tears escaped my eyes. Family, an actual family. We finally arrived to a very high class neighborhood. When I talk high class, I am talking about a gated neighborhood with security stationed at every four yards. The tan concrete walls towered above the guards, with a white trim and a sign in gold cursive font Rive Bank . Bri pulled up to the metal gate, and flashed an ID. "Good evening Ms.Bryers." He smiled at her, handing her back her ID card.
"Hello Tyler", she replied with no emotion.
"She's clear", Tyler simply yelled, resulting in the gates to open up, as Bri drove up.
Bri drove for another 5 minutes before finally pulling into a drive way. She pressed a call button, and the gate opened leading us down a semi long drive way, covered in tears. The house came into view. The outside of the house a tan, beige color, with a dark roof. Two large pillars stood in front of the house, with a brick drive way. Stairs led up to the front door, flowers on each side varing in color. Large windows, varied in places on both floors. Bri parked underneath the roof of the outside. "Welcome home", she smiled at me, pulling out her keys, unbuckling her seat belt. I slowly smiled as I unbuckled my safety belt. I opened the passenger door and stepped out the escalade slowly. I took in my soundings. The outside of the house was beautiful. The roof above us, sparkled with bright lights. It shaded the cars from the rain and was stunning. I walked around the back of the car, and helped Bri with the bags, when a young man walked out the door and walked down the stairs all in smiles.
"Let me help you guys."he smiled, reaching for the bags out of my hands. I replied thank you and reached for more bags.
"Bri you guys looked like y'all shopped until yall dropped"
