Aftermath

"It's not safe to live inside your head all the time."

Those words will always stick with me because it's the opposite of how I've been living my life. I tell Hikaru everything but the truth. I hide my feelings because most of the time, they'd hurt him. I don't want that... But I also don't want to keep lying to him.

Hikaru turns to me. "What did she say?" I don't answer immediately, I'm too stunned.

"Nothing really. Just if I can help pay her debt." I can't believe I can lie so easily to the one person who doesn't get the two of us mixed up...

Not the one person anymore. One of the people. Haruhi has come into our lives and changed everything.

"She knows we can't help her. With the amount she owes, we'd become just as poor as her! Kyoya's heartless, he just keeps on adding more and more to her debt. I almost feel sorry for her but..." He stops there.

"But what?" I try to pull it out of him.

"Nah, it doesn't matter."

He'll tell me later. He always says this and then ends up telling me anyway.

The girl's are in a shocked silence. They're just as surprised as we are. "I can't believe he guessed right!" One of the girls says. "I know, right?! No one's ever managed to tell the difference before, and so easily, too!"

You would if you cared enough to learn the difference.

"Maybe it was just beginners luck?" One girl suggests.

"Can't be. He was so certain when he said it." Another replies.

"He could have been faking it?" Yet another girl interjects.

Wow. We do get a lot of customers.

"Ladies, ladies. Let's just move on shall we?" Hikaru interrupts them, but they don't seem offended.

"What should we do then, Kaoru?" I flinch at the sound of my name.

"Anyone have any pocky?" Hikaru replies to the question aimed at him.

All the girl's faint simultaneously. 

Welp.

That sorted them out.
