Chapter 1: Hi i'm Alice

My name is Alice i'm a detective for the Chicago pd. I've been working for the industry for about three years now with my partner Spencer. It's been a life changing carer so, But many people ask me why i chose the job and if i regret getting into the business. But the truth is i don't because i'm changing peoples lives by solving there love ones murder cases. There's also a second reason too my father used to work for the same agency as i do but he retired a few years back.

I remember my first day at the job like it was yesterday, I was with my partner Spencer he was a little more experienced then i was so i just followed in his footsteps as we went on with are case. But when we arrived to the scene i felt butterflies in my stomach because i didn't now what i was getting myself into. But at that moment i remember my fathers words "Alice  you'll do great ". So i sucked it up and got out of our car and as i walked up to their  front door i felt nervous as soon as i opened the front door my jaw dropped.

As i look at the ground i see a woman maybe in her early 20's lying facing the ceiling with a phone cord wrapped around her neck and a stab wound in her chest and a pile of dark red blood on the side of her. My body becomes numb as i just stare and wonder what could this woman have done to deserve to be murdered in cold blood.

But your probably wondering what is this woman's name? Her name is Samantha Weller and shes 23 years old. And little do you know she doesn't know what hit her or what happened all she can remember is the face of her killer and the pain of it. I felt bad for her mother and her father who have been probably worrying about her for weeks. As we talk to her neighbors we get a motive. Samantha's neighbor Katrina told us her boyfriend Bobby visited her the night before she was murdered which was a few days ago we ask Katrina where we could find Bobby she said we can find him at the local bar because he was a alcoholic.

We soon arrive at the bar and we see the very drunk and depressed Bobby drinking  whiskey we approach Bobby ans ask him what he was doing a Samantha's house the night before she was killed. He said that he was with Samantha and they were having a date night and he left around 12:00 we ask him if he has someone who can check in and make sure he left Samantha's house at 12:00 he soon called his friend and he checked out so who could of killed Samantha. But we got a fingerprint match and it ended up being Samantha's next door neighbor and we know why she committed the crime. Samantha and her boyfriend would always argue even sometimes there arguments would get out of hand where one person would get screamed at and a slam of a door in there face. That's when Katrina took matters into her own hands and decided that she would kill Samantha that  very night in cold blood.
