Seeing Her

Reiner's POV

'She's a goddess, she's too good for this world' I thought to myself as I watch from afar. "Hey Bertholdt, do you think I might have a chance with her?" I ask. "U-um maybe, I mean, if you t-talk to her, you shouldn't j-just watch from afar, go talk to her, we have our next class with her." Bertholdt replied. I sighed.

I want to talk to her but I either make a fool of myself or Ymir interrupts and takes Christa away. "Okay. I'll try and talk to her, it should be fine since Ymir isn't on the same class." Bertl just nodded in response.

*Bell Rings*

"Just talk to her as you would with Bertl or I. You'll be fine Reiner." Annie joined the conversation. We all get up and go to our class. Luckily Annie, Bertl and I have the same science class which happens to be now.

I sit down in my assigned seat, which is just behind the gorgeous, and most precious gem; Christa. Once our teacher, Ms Zöe, also known as Hange, enters she hands out papers that tell us what our assignment is.

"Okay class, over the next 3 weeks we will be working in pairs, I will be choosing who is paired with who. Your assignment is on Titans from all those years ago. Oh how I wish I was there to see the beautiful creatures. You have to do 15 pages and you have to present your speech in front of the class." Hange said, then started writing the pairs on the white board.

It went:
Mikasa and Jean
Bertholdt and Annie
Eren and Armin
Sasha and Ymir
Christa and Reiner
Connie and Marco
Mina and Thomas.

I was so happy to see I was paired with Christa. Jean and Mikasa got lucky to be paired since they're dating. Eren and Armin are good friends so good for them. To say the least everyone got paired with people they can work well with.

And when I turned to look at Bertholdt, his face was priceless. He was completely red in the face and sweating as usual. I find it hard not to laugh since he has the biggest crush on Annie, but he try's not to show it, which he fails miserably at.

I pat his back and say "Luck you, you got paired with Annie. Have fun when she has to go to yours, and help you work, in your bedroom." I laughed so hard after I finished talking and Bertl just went even more red if possible.

He then hit me and said "Well at least I have more of a chance with Annie then you ever will with Christa." I stopped laughing and just froze still and went red in the face since he said it loud enough to make everyone stare at me and him.

A few people laughed but stopped when Hange told everyone to quiet down. She also mentioned that we have to do the work at home since there wouldn't be much time to complete it in class time.

I still haven't moved from where I sit. Caught in thought I think to myself 'is Bertl right? I mean, I think Christa has a thing with Ymir. Does she even like guys? Will I ever have a chance with her? I'm sure she hates me now after Bertholdt just said that in front of the whole class.'
