"... hair, check!" Ginerva said as her silky red hair fell onto her shoulders in a shower of ringlets. Satisfied with her appearance, Ginerva raced down the stair and got into the car.
Ginerva had just moved from her hometown, Texas, to Michigan. She was anxious and at the same time, excited to be going to a high school and making new friends. She missed her old friends back in Texas but there was nothing she could do about it.
"See you later, Mom!" Ginerva waved to her mother before getting out of the car. She straightened her shirt before stepping through the school gates as she had to make a good impression. Ginerva walked into the building and bumped into something soft. Looking up, she saw a guy who looked really, really hostile. "Watch where you're going douche!" he growled. Mumbling an apology, Ginerva tried to walk past him but he shoved her back. A crowd had already gathered around them and they were whispering among themselves.
"What did you call her? What did you call her?" a voice thundered from amongst the crowd. An enraged girl stepped forward.
"N...Nothing!" stuttered the now frightened guy. The girl gave him a death stare and he scrambled off.
"Hey, you alright? The name's Athena. But my friends call me Athe.That coward just now was Jock. You?" she introduce herself as she help Ginerva up. Ginerva took her all in. Athena looked like the athletic type. Dirty blonde hair, emerald green eyes and a bit tall, but shorter than Ginerva herself. She wore a black leather jacket, which stopped below her ribs, over a green floral shirt, midnight sky blue jeans and brown leather boots, much like a cowgirl's.
Ginerva thought for a while and whispered, "Erm, hi! My name's Ginerva but you can call me Ginny. I just moved here last week from Texas." Athena eyed her carefully, trying to remember the rumours she heard. Suddenly, her eyes lit up.
"Oh, I remember now! You're the new girl everyone's been talking about! Follow me and I'll bring you on a tour on Athe's Express!" Athena squealed excitedly and pulled Ginerva along with her.
When they reached the cafeteria, Ginerva could make out where the jocks, nerd and popular girls' tables were. Ginerva followed Athena to a big round table with three girls. Athena turned to her and said, "Ginny, meet Luna, Elsa and Arial! They are my besties!" She gestured to them and they grinned at Ginerva.
Luna had jet-black hair with a red and a blue streak. She was wearing a black dress with stars on it and a dark blue coat. She had dark brown eyes and was very quiet. She was shorter than Athena.
Elsa had strawberry brown hair and hazel eyes, She an orange jacket over a cream-coloured shirt with a light pink skirt. She was a bit on the short side.
Arial, meanwhile, was the same height as Athena. She had wavy, blond hair that is just above her hips and had blue eyes. She was wearing a little blue mini-dress and brown boots. She was easily the prettiest one in the group.
"Wait a minute. You look just like Ginny from Harry Potter books!" said Luna excitedly.
"My mum was a huge Harry Potter fan so she decided to name me after her," Ginny explained. Immediately, Luna started telling all about the books and files. before she could talk about " The chamber of secrets' , Elsa cut her off.
So, why do you change your school in the middle of the term?" Elsa asked. She told her that her father had bee promoted and had to work here, After answering all their queries about Michigan, Ginny asked Athena and the others about school.
"Watch out for Jock and Charissa, captain of basketball and cheer leading respectively. They are annoying gits and they will try to ruin your life. Fortunately, both of them are afraid of teachers and me," Athena said boastfully.
They laughed at the face Athena made as she said "...and me". After comparing their timetable, Ginny realized that she would be having physics with Athena, biology with Luna, maths with Arial and Elsa. Break and art, they would be together and the rest of her lesson alone.
Ring..."Come on, let's go for our lessons now. This is my last chance before the teacher send me to 'The Grimm Reaper' the principal." said Luna.
Ginny glance at her timetable again. First was Maths. When they got to the class, they chose seats near to the window. After waiting ten minutes, an old lady with a frilly hat came into the classroom. Ginny assumed that that was the teacher.
