Klaus's POV
Today was the day. She was finally going to wake up. The girl. Caroline. I waited by her bedside every day for a month. I felt like I knew everything about her. I could draw her face from memory and when I closed my eyes she was there looking right back at me. In the beginning I tried to fight it; my humanity. But there was something about her. It made me capable of love.
Bekah and Elijah were sceptical of course, as I hadn't been like this since Tatia. But this girl completed me, and I had to meet her.
Rebekah texted me after what felt like hours of nerves building up in me. I had tried to draw but nothing was taking my mind off the moment. The moment Caroline would finally see me. The text simply said: 'She's awake.' I stood up quickly, forcing myself to calm down and pushing back the emotions. I had to keep cool. I had to show Rebekah I wasn't soft. Walking down the corridor was hell, but hearing her voice and her heartbeat from out here calmed me down. I heard her ask about me. Plastering a smirk on, I walked in.
'Hello, love.' I said slowly. Her eyes held mine, like they had when I saved her from the car. I heard her breath catch in her throat as she inspected me curiously. 'Take a picture. It'll last longer.' I said smirking as I sat down next to Rebekah. 'Leave us.' I commanded her. She stood up and sighed heavily. 'Fine. But I'll be listening.'
Caroline's POV
I looked up to see the man that saved me from the car. I didn't realise I had stopped breathing until he made some snarky comment. A deep red blush crept up my neck and into my cheeks. I blew out air angrily. What the hell. This wasn't some cliche romance movie. I hated this guy for keeping me here.
After Rebekah left, her brother sat and watched me, clearly waiting for me to speak. 'So, creeper guy..' I began. He cut in quickly. 'Klaus. Clearly Rebekah missed that part out.' I sighed. Enough with this whole thing. I wanted answers. 'Right. Well Klaus, I am Caroli-' I began to tell him my name before he rudely said 'I know. Hello Caroline.'
I found myself turning red again. He said my name like it's a prayer. I heaved myself out of bed to cross the room to him. 'Look. I don't know what you wan-' I began shouting at him before he so rudely started talking over me. 'Thats easy, love. I want to turn you.'
'Turn me? What the hell Klaus? You don't even know me. I-i don't even know you. And I don't want to be a vampire.' I retaliated. I felt his arm on mine all of a second. 'You don't want to be a vampire Caroline. You need to be a vampire.'
'No. I don-' I blurted out before his warm hand covered my mouth. Gross. 'You do. Trust me love.' He whispered in my ear as goosebumps rippled up my neck. I pushed him away with all my strength but he just held me there. When I finally got him away I began my attack. 'You interrupted me. Again. Is that our thing?' Shit. I regretted it as soon as I said it when I saw my kidnappers face. 'We have a thing?'
'No. I misspoke. Forgive me, I just woke up.' I spat at him. Before I could say another word, a man in a suit strolled in and stared at us. I realised we were still way too close and I walked back to the bed. 'Let me guess.' I groaned. 'Another original.'
'Hello Caroline. My name is Elijah.'
A/N: Urgh this chapter is shitty but I really wanted them to have chemistry from the start. Also now my baby Elijah is here its all gonna be ok right. AAAA ok please comment and vote. And add to your library because I'm going to be updating regularly. Peace.
