Jon Snow left the tunnel and walked out on the north side of the wall. He was met by the sweet morning light and the not so sweet smell of smoking dead bodies. The smell of smoked rotten flesh made Jon wrinkle his nose. He walked the path to Mance Rayder's camp with the knowledge that he might not make it back to Castle Black.

Upon reaching the camp he put his hands in the air as a sign that he meant no harm. Evidently, all Wildlings pointed their weapons at the crow who had fought them just last night during the Battle of Castle Black. Out of the main tent emerged Mance Rayder with a grouchy face and Jon lowered his hands.

"You're wearing black again." Mance commented.

"I've been sent to negotiate" Jon said with a deep raspy voice.

They entered the tent and took a seat opposite of each other. Wildlings were standing around them, eyeing down the person who once was one of them. "It appears my trusting nature got the better of me. It's happened before, I was hoping your loyalty was real when you pledged yourself to us, Jon Snow, I truly was." Mance said with a harsh tone.

"The Halfhand ordered me to join your army and bring back whatever information I could to Castle Black. He made me kill him so you'd trust me. I was loyal to him and to my Night's Watch vows." Jon answered.

"All your vows?" Mance asked smirking. Jon looked away at the thought of his ex-lover, the wound still fresh from her passing just one day ago. "She wasn't enough to turn ya, eh? Were you enough to turn her?" Mance continued.

"She put three arrows in me when I escaped." Jon answered gazing off into the distance.

"Did you see her again at Castle Black?" Mance asked.

"Yes."

"And?"

"She's dead." It pained Jon to think about his lover dying in his arms, he never wanted to experience that again, if he ever found someone he loved just as much as ygritte he would protect her with his life. So that he would never have to watch as the warmth of his beloved slipped away and left behind a cold shell of what she had been.

"Your doing?" Mance asked.

"No." Jon answered with sorrow in his voice.

"We'll drink to her." Mance said. They made a toast for her and after that, the conversation took a rather hostile turn. They talked about striking a bargain. Jon wanted Mance to turn around but Mance proposed a bargain. That the Night's Watch should let them pass through the tunnel and no crow would come to harm. Then Jon's true intention was revealed as he glanced at a knife. He wanted to kill Mance Rayder. The sound of a horn and someone screaming "Riders!" made everyone scatter and Mance took the same knife Jon glanced at and put it against his throat.

"You attacking us?" Mance said threatening.

"It's like you said, we don't have the men." Jon answered. They both left the tent. Wildlings ran around frantically.

"Hold! To me. To me." Mance said as about a dozen Wildlings made a circle around Mance and Jon. Horsemen with banners waving cut through the Wildling camp like a hot knife slicing through butter. The Wildlings didn't stand a chance. "Stand down! I said my people had bled enough and I meant it!" Mance said throwing his own weapon to the ground.

Out of the tree line rode two men with guards behind them. They dismounted their horses and started walking towards Mance and Jon.  Mance dropped his other weapons and by that, disarming himself fully. Behind the unknown men came a whole squadron of soldiers with banners and shields bearing all the same sigil. The crowned black stag of House Baratheon enclosed within the fiery heart of the Lord of Light. The man to the right, bearing the sigil on his chest spoke;
