A/N: I too am experiencing second-hand embarrassment...
This fanfiction is in an au in which they all are in their 20s and Katelyn moved away to marry Jeffery, leaving behind everyone.

TW: depression.
Start--

Katelyn was in quite a mess. She was in a relationship with a person she never even liked let alone love. She was trying to numb all of her pain and Jeffrey was such a wonderful guy, he was perfect, they seemed perfect. Then she realised how utterly selfish and unthoughtful she was, toying with feelings? what was she to gain? But he could soothe her pain, but now the pain seemed to just combust out of her entire being. He couldn't soothe her pain, he only buried it, and it was an extravagant drug she had become addicted to. But now the bottle was empty and Katelyn was now withdrawn from it, influenced to get more. but she didn't need it. All of her insecurities and fears were chained safely away from her. But she still craved what he could not give her, could not soothe her. That is when she figured, that she didn't need temporary, she needed permanent,

and there was only ONE possibly person who could save Katelyn from the monsters in her head.

Travis Valkrum. Ever since Travis buzzed back into her life three months ago(even though she had been avoiding seeing him for the last two months) she has never been sure of anything anymore. So right now, what was she doing you ask? She was writing screenplays, In her room, at three in the morning. Her inspiration was that of his, well, everything. Ideas sprung from her mind like a tidal wave pulling her into her inspiration. Even though she was lost in the ocean of his existence, she couldn't possibly feel more at home. She was too far down, too far to come back for air and even if she could come back up, she'd be pushed back down, sucked back in and relishing in all of Travis valkrum's existence. He had gotten under the skin, somewhere along the way of their friendship, he had finally done it, He had made Katelyn ache for him, need him. Even thinking about it caused her heart to radically twist in pain, it was a vicious case of a hate-love and the cure you ask? Travis.

After checking the time and realising it was now a reasonable hour of the morning, she wrapped herself in warm clothes and raced out the door with tear-stained cheeks. She didn't even realise that she was crying until just now. So she wiped her eyes and set off to tell him everything.

She knew she needed Travis. She knew it and he needed to know.

Before she knew it she was at the front door of the love of her life. She hesitated at first. The still dark sky swirled with light more as seconds passed. The chill in the air settled her aching legs from practically sprinting through the snow. She paused at the creaky wooden deck, The curtain was shut and not much light emitted from anywhere.

Katelyn stood staring at the door of his house. She looked to the snow that reached up and spread lightly across the wood making it slippery and hazardous. Her mind drifted off as she stared at the ice.

Scenarios plagued her thoughts of what she would find. Would he tell her he wasn't in love with her? Had he rather share his bed with Lucinda? Will he just flat out love her back? What was to meet behind this block of wood? She carefully stepped up to the porch and crept toward the door. Her poor aching soul was enough to for her to just-.

She raised her clammy palm into a fist and reached for the door. Despite the blanket of white decorating everything. Just looking at the frozen white land made her head spin with flying thoughts of him. She continued to stare mindlessly at the snow blanket on the porch.

She remembered the soft tendrils of his hair and the way his eyes glimmer when he laughs. She imagined him in his favourite shirt, she even went as far as to imagine him without a shirt. She even remembers the way when something challenging came his way he would furrow his eyebrows and squint eyes at it. She also remembered when he chuckled his shoulders would shake lightly. Not to mention his jaw-dropping smile. He wasn't a prince charming by a long shot, but he was still amazing, bad pick up lines and all.
