Hermione sighed as she twirled in her chair- luckily they had this in the Ministry, not just in muggle offices. it reminded her of her parents who she would see them soon- they had visited for her wedding (remember this is assuming Voldemort did not exist, so they weren't obliviated). She packed up her things: notebook, quill, parchment, wand... check. Sighing heavily (again), she walked to tell her boss she had to leave.
When she got to his office, however, he wasn't there. She stared, confusion flooding her.
"This isn't my boss... I've seen him, and he's not blond and annoying," she thought.
"Hello, Mudblood."
"Shut up Ferret."
"What brings you here... Mudblood?" he asked.
"Nothing FERRET. I just have to leave early because my husband was killed by something and I don't want to be late for the funeral because its the last time I will EVER SEE HIM!!"
"Well, that's harsh," he answered curtly. he avoided eye contact with Hermione, but instead eyed her necklace sadly. She sensed he was hiding something from her.
"I'll tell my cousin that you have to leave, then" he said as he broke the silence. Hermione nodded suspiciously and left the room, slamming the door behind her. Draco watched her the entire time, without her noticing of course.
"Oh Hermione, if you only knew..." he murmured to himself.

She didn't even look at her reflection in the mirror to see if she looked alright. Her dress was all black- the darkest black there could ever be (like the way she felt), and she did nothing to her hair. She was in a state of depression. She sat down on her bed.
"It's nice of Mrs. Weasley to let me stay here," she thought.
Knock Knock
"Come in," she sniffled. In came her mother.
"Oh Honey," she said sadly. She was looking forward to her daughter getting married to someone she loved dearly, and now it was gone forever. "It's going to be okay, I'm here for you." She hugged her daughter, and Hermione started to cry.
"Mom, he's gone- he's really gone! Not just away from our love, dating another girl, but GONE! LIKE GONE FOREVER!!" Hermione sobbed.
"Just think like this, Honey. He's in a better place now, and he wouldn't want to see you like this..." her mother said reassuringly.
"Now, lets do your makeup and hair so no one will know how slobby you are" she joked. Hermione giggled shakily, and nodded. Then she took her mother's hand as she led her into the bathroom.

"Hermione!" Ginny exclaimed. She ran over to hug her best friend. They cried silently together, warm tears flowing like waterfalls down their cheeks.
Then Hermione said, "I want to see him for the last time." Ginny nodded and went to hold Harry's hand.
Hermione walked slowly up to the coffin draped with Gryffindor colors. She held in a sob as she gaze down at her husband's face. As of his death she was considered a widow.
"Ron," she gasped. "Ron come back- please! I can't live without you- you're my only love and I-I... I miss you so much! Why did you have to die?!" she cried. "You were so young- WE WERE GOING TO BE MARRIED!!! We were going to have a life together... grow old together... and now you don't have that chance." She kissed his face and stayed by him for a while, sobbing all the while.
"Erm-herm."
"Y-Yes?"
"Mrs. Granger, your guests are starting to arrive."
"Okay, I'll get ready." she sniffed. She had prepared a speech, but being disoriented and all, she had forgotten it at home.

"Tonight, we will be honoring the death of Mr. Ron Bilius Weasley, who was a good friend, son, and husband." Hermione choked up at "husband". Ginny held her hand reassuringly, her eyes also filled with tears.
"Now Mrs. Hermione Jean Weasley, Mr. Weasley's wife, will say a few words." Hermione swallowed back her tears and stepped up to the pedestal. She scanned the crowd for her mother, and she nodded solemnly.
She took a deep breath. "Ronald Bilius Weasley, I will never forget you. You'll always be in my heart, forever and ever." Tears were starting to come back again. With a lump in her throat too big to swallow, she murmured into the microphone, "I'm sorry we won't spend the rest of our lives with eachother. I'm sorry we won't have any children to look after together. I'm sorry for letting you die- I didn't get to say goodbye." Hot tears rolled down her cheeks as she walked back to her seat, and she blocked out everything else from that night, not even remembering that people showed their respects to Ron, her, and the rest of the Weasley family.
She was in a great state of depression, and only one thing could take her out- the finding of her husband's murderer.
