Aya's P.O.V.
I rushed into my house, practically running to my room like a race car. I threw my backpack next to the desk's chair, making it screech against the wooden floor but fortunately not making it fall. My brother, Seth, walked behind me and said with a soft giggle
Seth: Woah, there. Calm down, Aya.
Aya: Come on, Seth! This is the best day of our lives!
Seth: I wouldn't be so excited for just a game if I were you.
I plopped on my bed, my legs dangling on its edge and my eyes glued to the white roof.
Aya: Of course you wouldn't now, you got to be a Beta Tester. But when you first got to play it, you were as thrilled as me, if not more. Seth, this is my first time in an MMO!
He sighed, brushing his short, brown hair with his pale slender fingers as he sat down next to me.
Seth: Guess you're a lost case. I must admit, SAO really is wonderful. I wouldn't blame you if you fell in love with it. I sure did. Still, it's just a game.
I sat next to him and he ruffled my hair like he did when I was a child, to which I responded with a groan.
Aya: It's more than that, Seth. I bet that it is a whole world on its own, a world where you can be strong and brave and-and, I just want to be part of it so bad.
Seth smiled playfully, as if hearing the dreams of a kid.
Seth: Well, how about we start playing and see how it goes?
Aya: You got it, bro!
Seth helped me plug my Nerve Gear to my computer and explained me the basics of it. Seth always was a good teacher, overflowing with patience. It's no big surprise that his aspirations are to become that cool teacher in school that makes his classes so interesting that most students don't sleep during them. Once everything was set, I nervously laid down on my bed.
Seth: Relax, you'll do great. Don't forget, now, I will send you a friend request and you will accept me so I can see where you are. Then you just wait for me. Alright?
Aya: Sure!
Seth: Okay, great. I will go to my room and start playing too. See you there, Aya.
Aya: See ya!
He quietly got up and walked towards my bedroom door, closing it silently as he exited. I waited until I heard his voice say "Link Start!", for I didn't want to log-in before him. I took a breath in and pronounced the words that I didn't know would be the ones I would forever regret.
Aya: Link...Start!
I saw a white background far away as rays of multiple colors flashed in front of me. I quickly filled in my profile, my username being just my own name, Aya. I then saw everything turn dark. I blinked a few times, vision starting to take its place. I looked down at my hands. They looked similar to mine, but they were not, I realized. I directed my eyes in front of me, my mouth opening widely. I was in SAO.
