The silent cafe was filled with the sounds of the gentle pitter patter of the rain hitting against the rooftop, the occasional conversations between the employee who worked at the cashier and a customer that ordered their treat or a drink to-go, along with slim digits that typed away in their keyboard of a laptop.
The fingers mentioned above, belonged to Valeria. The girl was sitting beside the window with her shoulders slightly slumped and her black framed glasses above the bridged of her nose, her hair tied up into a messy yet simple ponytail with some of the strands covered the side of her features. Her eyebrows were furrowed out of concentration as she typed away in her laptop that people could of mistook her as being frustrated with something. though she couldn't help it really, as it was already a habit of hers.
The raven haired female could feel her muscles on her shoulders and nape starting to ache from the several hours of sitting and staring into the screen of her laptop, Valeria decided that it was already a good time to take a break for a moment or two. The girl leaned back and emitted a sigh out of content once she felt the plush material from the cushion pressing against the flat of her back, and reached her arms out in a stretch.
Her slim fingers reached up to take off the glasses and gently place them on the table in front of her, beside her laptop and phone, then curled her digits around the handle of the mug with her drink of choice for the day. She brought the mug to her plump lips that were lightly painted with a cherry flavoured lip balm, and took a long sip of the drink. A hum of content left her lips once the sweet taste of her drink washed over her tastebuds. A caramel macchiato for today was her choice. loving how the way the drink was sweet at first yet leaving the bitter taste behind the back of her throat.
Her index finger traced the lip of the mug while her gaze switched from the warm caramel coloured drink to the scenery outside. It was a light drizzle today with the clouds that hung over the sky made it look like a blank canvas that was eager to be painted with the colours of crimson and a dash of pink with purple as it was already evening.
A light beam curled itself over Valeria's lips as she continued to admire the scenery outside of the cafe, loving how she was surrounded with the occasional calls of random names for the customers from the employees, the sound of the rain, and the smell of freshly brewed coffee along with the scent of baked goods that filled her nose. Truly, she couldn't ask anything more than such a calming atmosphere.
