After Alex almost killed Elliot, I was duly informed about the happening that had taken place during the summer of 2014.
"Ohmygod."
I looked at Elliot, he was biting his bottom lip, he bit it so hard it had now turned from a deep pink to a pale white.
His inky green eyes were filled with tears and he was still shaking from the panic attack.
Alex was beyond livid in the corner of my room, mainly because of two reasons, I couldn't figure out the second reason, but the first was clear as day.
"Your dad," Elliot had been given Alex's sweater -- he didn't want Elliot to be cold.
Good for him, bad for me.
"--and my mom?" Alex looked at Elliot like he had just grown a second head, "You never knew?" Elliot shook his head.
He pulled at his hair and his hands flew to my doorknob, "I... Jesus, I can't believe that -- you gotta have known. You're not stupid."
Elliot ran to Alex's side, his eyes were burning with tears, "I haven't seen my mother, my own mom, in three years! How the hell do you expect me to know? Telepathy? Letters from the grave?"
Alex grew quiet, "T-the grave?"
Elliot pulled at his hair, a soft brown color with auburn and dark hazel coloring. "She died last month, she had lung cancer."
"The affair lasted for two years."
"I. Don't. Care." Elliot was fuming, he pulled the door open and glared at Elliot. "Leave Alex. Get the hell out of my face!""Not your house." Alex crossed his arms and leaned lazily against the door frame, he was toying with Elliot.
Bad idea.
"CJ?"
Shit. No. Do not, include me in your 'bromance'.I sighed and rubbed the back of my neck, "Yeah?"
"Who should stay -- and who should leave?"
"Like for now right?"
"How about... forever?" My jaw hit the floor and Alex looked stunned at Elliot's words.
"I cant make Alex leave forever!"
"But you can make leave for the night?"
"I'm a little mad at you right now!"
"Why? Because I interrupted your and Elliot's little make out sesh?"
"No - because you rejected me in the worst possible way and then gave zero shit about it."Alex shut up, Elliot on the other hand looked at me with ohgawdshit written all over his face.
The reality of my words sunk in slowly and it dawned on me almost quickly what I had just said.
Oh Christ, I had just told Alex I liked him.
-
School the next day was absolute torture. Alex stayed away from me, but he kept looking at me, with eyes that just screamed WTF!
Elliot on the other hand was shaky and off gaurd, he let Rayn babbly away about 'him and I' during fourth period lunch and didn't even care when Alex called him a faggot from the other side of the hallway.
"Elliot are you okay?"
It was drama, the only class all three of us had together and the only class that could end in a massacre.
I sat next to Elliot in the back, his hair was still perfect, but a few loose strands fell into his eyes, obstructing the view of his eyes.
Alex sat next to me and Elliot shifted uncomfortably in his seat. Oh, no.
"CJ? I'm tired." Elliot spoke softly, looking at me through his eyelashes and the curls of his hair, I wanted to eat of his face.
"Hm?" Elliot smiled and leaned hia head on my shoulder, sending a bunch of mixed signals to my head.
Why was he doing this?
Alex looked like he would throw uo any second now, Elliot reached for mm y hand and he started tracing circles on the palm of my hand.
"...Hamlet was a classic tale..." Elliot stop, "...Written by the famous..." God, what the hell is he doing to my hand? "... He was one of the most adored..."
He lifted my hand up to his face, I could feel his hot breath on the top of my hand, "...Ahead of his time, really." Elliot brushed his lips against my skin and right before he thrown against the wall by Alex, he kissed my cheek."ALEX! ELLIOT!" I sat in my seat, heart racing and my hand tingling with fireworks going off in my head, butterflies were rapidly flying around my stomach and I was about to scream.
I heard the class erupt in cheers and Elliot laugh, "I swear to god Ryder, I'm going to beat your face to a pulp!"
I heard Alex sneer and Elliot laugh louder, "Why? Because I kissed her? What are you - jealous?"
My eyes flooded with tears when it actually dawned on me why he had done it.
I stood up and gathered my stuff, a few small tears slipped down my cheek and I turned to face Elliot and Alex.
"You two deserve each other. You can't play with a girls heart like that. Stop it. What's the point of breaking me even more? Its not fair, and what you two did means nothing."
Alex dropped Elliot, "CJ..." Elliot's voice was a whisper, I wiped my mouth and stalked out of the drama room, preparing myself for the worst rumors to start pouring in.
-
True to my word, by seventh period, all the student body could talk about was Elliot, Alex and me.
I skipped the rest of school and drove my self to a small Italian café, a ten minute drive from school.
I pulled on my backpack straps and walked through the small doors and up to the counter, I scanned the crowd seated for a vacancy.
A table was left in the corner of the café, near the window, far away from everyone else.
I smiled to myself and walked over to the quaint little table and seated myself.
I studied the menu and thought up an order, "Hey, I'm Melissa, what would you like to order? Our specials for today are the Strawberry Sherbert, Peach Popsicle Surprise, Kiwi and Pineapple shake and the Ski Apple ice cream sundae."
I gave her a small smile and handed her the menu card, "Just a Vanilla milshake would be nice."
She nodded and headed off toward the blenders.
The small bells over the doors rang and I watched as a red - brown haired boy walk in.
His gaze locked on mine, he smiled and made his way over to me.
"Hey CJ!"
"Hey," I gulped, "'-Mike."
